No Pompey stay for Spurs midfielder.

Portsmouth loan star Jamie O'Hara will return to Tottenham in January, Harry Redknapp has confirmed.

O'Hara has enjoyed his spell on the South Coast so far, and admitted he would be open to stay.

However, Spurs chief Redknapp has made it clear that O'Hara will return to White Hart Lane as soon as possible.

"We will definitely get Jamie back as soon as we can," Redknapp confirmed.

"I like Jamie as a player and I didn't want him to go but Portsmouth insisted on it as part of the deal to sell Kevin Prince Boateng to them so we had no choice."

Jamie's not gonna want to stay at Portsmouth after January anyway. They'll be almost down by then

Heh... althooouuuugh, could have said the same of us about this time last season.

Lol, we were so desperate to sell Boateng we had to give them extra players to take him. It's usually us giving a player on loan when buying from the club isn't it? :p

I could swear that Harry siad he was happy for O'Hara to go on loan as it would give him a lot more game time. I for one will be happy to see lil Jamie back at the club. We need his terrir type of style as Wilson is not gonna be able to play every match.

    He can stay pompey

O'Hara would've made a big difference for us in the last 2 matches. He's very good cover for key midfield positions - we should've taken less money for Boateng and kept him. We're being murdered down the left at the moment and GDS would've been too light weight for United and Chelsea.

I can't believe Harry's just confirmed this. When I heard the (apparent) speculation that this was the reason for the loan I thought, no, impossible. Why the hell did Pompey buy KPB if they didn't really want him? Either they wanted him or didn't want him, surely? Since when do you offer a loan player as sweetener to persuade sb to BUY a player. Madness. Not to mention the fact that we were obviously going to miss him.

    O'Hara, not KPB, clearly.

I think we missed O'hara yesterday, Chelsea played on our weakness on our left side of midfield, Jenas was playing there and he was not chasing back or helping our left back out. O'hara or Modric seem to always help out when playing in this position, both of them creating a killer pass when retriving the ball from this position
    Maybe loan Jenas to Portsmouth

I believe O'Hara was thrown in as a sweetner so Pompey would pay £4mill for him. They obviously wanted him but didn't want to pay that much, which is why Jamie went on loan as well.

I think people have the wrong end of the stick. Portsmouth demanded O'Hara along with Boateng, we didn't throw him at them to induce them to accept KPB.

Portsmouth were desperate for players, having been forced to sell most of their best ones. They were in such financial trouble that they couldn't afford to pay the price for Boateng, because they wouldn't be able to buy the other midfielder they also needed, so they insisted that we loan them a midfielder as well, so they could fill their roster within their budget.

also the kranjar deal might have something to do with this too?
