Tottenham are to offer Aaron Lennon a new contract that will keep him at White Hart Lane for the next five years.

Manager Harry Redknapp has been impressed with the England winger since he took charge.

Lennon has two years left on his current deal but Redknapp wants to secure his long-term future.

Under Redknapp Lennon is one of several players who has flourished. His pace has never been doubted but he took time to settle in London after his move from Leeds.

However Redknapp and his coaches have worked on Lennon's crossing and finishing and he is looking a more complete player.

His re-emergence has sparked hopes that he can play a key role in England's World Cup qualifying campaign - especially in the absence of injured Theo Walcott.

In January 07 he signed a new five and a half year contract so the Mirror's maths is a bit out. I'm just glad Lennon is back to his best as he is one of my favourite players at the club
  2. hughy
He's with us untill Summer 2012, is he not? That's good enough for me at the moment. Unless the club are willing to up his wage package, in which case, add a couple more years on to his contract.

Must be his final ball that Harry's been impressed by!!! Seriously, if he could work on that, Levy would be able to sell him to Man U

Reports are suggesting we are offering Lennon and O'Hara to Liverpool to get Robbie Keane Back
  5. dontcallme
Why would we offer that? Lennon is young and on very good form and O'Hara is an U21 international who is willing to play a number of positions. Keane is settling into a team that is currently top. This deal makes no sense to either party.

Not having a go at you I just can't see how that report/lie can have any truth.

Wouldn't mind having Keano back but under no circumstances should we let Lennon go anywhere. Just lately he has been one of our best players, just needs to improve that final ball.
  7. Coyboy
He's been our best attacking player this season if you consider Huddlestone has impressed in fits and starts and Modric took time to settle and was too often played on the left.
  8. Zammo
I've noticed lately that his shot has improved. It used to be lacking in power, but lately he's been crashing in shots, right and left feet. Good to see him work on his power. If he can sort out that final ball though he would become some player.

Those reports win "bollocks of the year".
  10. noiseboy55
reports from the sam paper that wrote this story - their journos obviously communicate with each other.
  11. Stono
On Song Lennon, is that our new South Korean right winger?

    Quote from today's mirror...

Tottenham will offer £5m plus midfielders Aaron Lennon and Jamie O'Hara - valued at £10m and £5m respectively - to tempt Liverpool into selling former Spurs striker Robbie Keane. (Daily Mirror)

What a joke paper! Always been a massive Keane fan but would not sacrafice Lennon to bring him back
  13. 2bearis2do
So the Sunday Mirror has us offering him a new contract.
The Daily Mirror has us swapping him for Keano.
    Got to love that rag...twats.
  14. Coyboy
    It happened overnight, keep up.
  15. DanNolan
id actually rather have lennon than keane now straight up let alone o hara and 5 mill!!!!

Lennons been one of our best players this season easily. His final ball can be wasteful and all he can do is continue to work on it but he does give us an outlet that is very important and he will create at least one good chance every game with his pace. Sign him up.
  17. koume2
    i dont want keane back
  18. punky
Lennon has been great this season but he's getting squeezed through transfers. We bought £16m Bentley to go in his place, and shifted him to the left. Now we might have £20m Arshavin or £12m Downing in his place there. He's young, but not a youth player anymore. I think if we're going to keep buying players ahead of him, he would be reluctant to sign a new contract.
  19. 2bearis2do
Yes, but did it really happen?!
