After recent results including wins against Dortmund and Liverpool at home and drawing to Real Madrid away, I think one thing is sure to say that our squad depth is better than last season and better than it has ever been.

But as well as we are progressing I still feel we are short of one or mabye 2 world class players, the issue is obviously affording their fee and wages but put that to one side it would be hard to find many players to actually get in our best XI. So I put it to you that if the below is our best XI and 2nd XI, money and wages aside which one player would you sign for us to improve our team? Personally I would go for a top level pacey goal scoring attacker such as: Sane, Mane, Hazard or Salah type to add depth to that area 2nd to that would be a world class CM such as Modric and 3rd would be an even better back-up striker than Llorente. Right now these are the 3 areas I think we can improve on. If we add Barkley and or Gomes in Jan/Summer + possibly another striker, I would really find it very hard to improve any other areas of the team.

Lloris (Vorm)

Aurier (Trippier)
Toby (Sanchez)
Jan (Foyth)
Rose (Davies

Wanyama (Dier)
Dembele (Winks)

Alli (Sissoko)
Eriksen (Lamela)
*SALAH* Son (N'Koudu)

Kane (Llorente)

The only position, or type of player, that would truly take us to world beater standard, and allow us to unlock those awful games where teams come and shut up shop, would be Bobby Robson's patented "Fantastista"... essentially, his Paul Gascoinge in 1990.

So other than Lionel Messi (that I can think of) who is in that bracket today?

For a start that isn't our first XI.

For a second, Son is a top level pacy goal scoring attacker.

For a third, I don't know why we're doing this.

n.o1 It pretty much is in a 4-2-3-1 in a 5-2-2-1 squad is pretty much the same.
2. Yes Son is but he's our only real player who offers that, without him we have no-one with pace who is also a goalscoring threat.
3. Because.

Bale injury prone and where would be play?
Griezmann great but where would he play?
Messi - obviously yes, would replace Eriksen or Alli.
They would all play in one of the 3 or 2 attacking positions behind Kane, it's a squad game

Would love Sane, I think he’s so underrated.

Fits in with Poch ethic completely.

Not sure what he earns but the likes of De Bruyne, who is amazing, Messi, Hazard, etc wouldn’t fit into our team without it being about them.

Seeing as we can promote Onomah my choice would be Zaha.

He's one of the players a competitor has bought when I've been properly disappointed. He'd have been perfect for us.

Anyway, if we are playing this game, and at least playing it with a degree of realism, I think it's important that the player fits the following categories:

- Actually gettable
- Young
- Very fast
- Tricky with the ball at his feet
- Essentially different to what we have
- Importantly, a player who's link with us is incredibly tenuous (i.e. made up by someone on here)
- And most importantly, a player that we've only really seen on Youtube, and therefor not live, and who we can thus get absurdly excited about because we've only seen the varnished truth

Gentlemen, I give you Gelson Martins

Kante. HIm in front of ur defence and we'd rarely let a goal in.

Would allow us to be even more attacking with the other mids having more license to get forward.
