Tottenham have told rival Premier League clubs they will listen to offers for all but THREE of their squad.

The England trio of Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Jonathan Woodgate are the 'untouchables' in Harry Redknapp's squad as the White Hart Lane chief seeks urgent funds for re-building.

While Spurs will not sell players like Robbie Keane, Darren Bent and David Bentley on the cheap, they could leave for the right price.

Redknapp has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid's Arjen Robben, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Bayern Munich's Luca Toni.

But he is more likely to recruit from within the Premier League - although leading target Peter Crouch is poised to join Sunderland.
Aston Villa's John Carew remains on his radar.

Palacios? Modric? Surely there are the untouchables, what a load of SH*T!!
  3. noggin
Not even original bullshit. Didn't we hear all about the Ramos untouchables last year. Sound to me like they are desperate to print column inches about Spurs so why not make up a story if nothing else news worthy:bang:

Dave Kidd obviously knows his stuff!

Why do the papers even include this crap....i thought they're meant to keep us upto date with NEWS, not wild, over the top bs. Realistic rumours i can live with but some of the column inch fillers they dream up are incredulous. I wish i could get a job where everything i do is rubbish and i get payed extremely well!

Because they know that every time they print a story that has a big football club selling a lot of players, they will have guaranteed sales and hits from fans of that club, looking in alarm to see if their favourites are going to be sold.

It's a hook. It's there to snare readers. It's invented.

the worst bull sh*t I have read in ages.

Just for once, I wish someone would hold these people up to account and sue their arses off. This is almost certainly unsubstantiated and could be detrimental to the team and business that is THFC.....I'm no lawyer, but doesn't doesn't this make it potentially libelous? One successful court case and this stream of b/s would soon dry up.
  10. spurslenny
surely there should be some sort of enforcable law against journalism of this kind.

anyone who knows even a grain about football knows that this story is an utter fabrication
  11. bigspurs
The only way to stop journo hacks from making these stories up, is for football clubs to start bringing forward legal proceedings against them. They can't just carry on ruining player's and club's reputations by fabricating stories about them on a daily basis?! If I made up a damaging lie about someone in public, I might expect to be sued for it.

Spurs could take a journalist to court every day if they wanted to. Nice little earner, as legally the journo wouldn't have a leg to stand on!
  12. Tickers
The responses are even funnier than the story. How the flying fuck is it libellous, you mentals? Bullshit, certainly, but libellous?

Perhaps if it said 'Harry Redknapp will listen to offers for all but three of his squad and likes to touch little boys', but I don't think it does.
  13. bigspurs
To say that everyone in the squad is potentially for sale except three is a lie and could be damaging to the team's morale, thus hurting the club you moron. What are you, a fucking journo or something?! The national media can't just go around making shit up about people. Where's their sense of professionalism?! Where's their sense of public responsibility?! Where's the fucking justice?!
  14. Krafty
    What a load of crap.

Harry has just done an interview saying how much he rates the like of Gomes and Cudicini, and thats just starting with the keepers. Sure someone offers 40 mill we might consider it but for crying out loud. They really are desperate for stories.
  15. Don_Felipe
Let's be honest.... Newspapers rumours are just part of the football machine, by tolerating the BS clubs and players can then use them for their own ends later on (Harry is pretty adept at this). I don't think anyone actually involved in football would give this the time of day, so it shouldn't really affect morale at all

If I had the time and patience, I would bring to fruition my "League of Horseshit"

Every day you read the papers, track the journos: what they have said and degree of believability attributed to each story and when they say the transfer/rumour will happen...

... should the rumour actually be fully confirmed by a creditable source, then no points are awarded. Should it then be carried out then points are awarded based on the ridiculousness of the transfer/rumour... but if it is complete made up horseshit, then based upon how ridiculous the story is, minus point are given.

At the end of the trial period of say a year, it will become very clear which journos are the laziest, most imaginative ones and the papers who blindly pay them vs those that actually investigate, research, network and earn their coin... Then, if this League of Truth/Horseshit was to go national - you can bet your bottom dollar that people would suddenly start doing their jobs.
  17. bigspurs
Great idea! The red tops would be out of business.
  18. Legacy
You could say that for almost any player for almost any club. Man Utd sold Ronaldo...for the right price. Milan sold Kaka...for the right price. Blackburn sold Santa Cruz...for the right price.

If Spurs receive a stupid offer for any of their players, Levy is going to think long and hard about it. If Man Utd were to come and offer £40m for Modric, we'd likely be tempted to accept. Hell, if Ferguson offered £30m for Lennon, one of the "untouchables," Levy would probably bite his hand off.

It's a completely pointless article aimed at us only because for once, there's very little to report in ambitious transfer rumours.
  19. tommo84
The journos are out of ideas and trying to create stories out of nothing because the 2 "sagas" which they expected to run and run all summer have already been concluded (Barry and Ronaldo). Now Owen's future is sorted, Tevez's is likely to be sorted this week and that leaves the English journos with nothing to write about, because the truth is nobody really cares about Man City as their fan base isnt big enough to sell papers and nobody else has much money to spend.

So they'll try and unsettle Spurs players, Liverpool players, and maybe a few Chelsea players while continuing to tell the world that Arsenal are the greatest team to watch in the world and United can have any player they want - an idea which messers Ronaldo, Villa, Ribery and Benzema might argue with.
