Josh Onomah may have fallen at the final hurdle with Aston Villa in their quest for the Premier League but he says that he will return to Tottenham Hotspur a better player.

The appearances at national team level has given everyone a taster of his potential, however, if he wants to make that potential a reality, then he's going to need to be a proper starter at a decent team before he even thinks about being a regular at Spurs.

I think a loan to a Huddersfield, or Brighton would be a good move because its a way to graduate the pressure that would allow him to demonstrate he could cut it at PL level, without having to make the seismic jump of performing at CL level.

It sounds like the loan was very beneficial for him and I am eager to see how he performs this summer. Depending on who leaves (likely Dembele, possibly Wanyama, but I doubt it) Onomah could be in line for some playing time next season (especially if Winks continues to struggle to stay fit). I do agree that if he won't see much playing time next season at Spurs that a loan to another PL club would be excellent for his development. It will be interesting to see what we do in the transfer market as far as replacing Dembele, whoever we bring in could have a big impact on Onomah's path to the first team.

It looks like there's a good player in him and we're not really seeing it. When he started he was another Eriksen but now he's another Dembele? Before he can fight for a place he / we need to figure what his best position is. I feel like this year it should have been sorted out at Villa.
