I've been very saddened by the events at Spurs since the new season started. I've been a Spurs fan for 26 years and today is my birthday, one which I share with my boyhood hero Glenn Hoddle.

I thought we were awful at Newcastle and Thursday night was a complete joke.

Today I received a Spurs shirt, pint glass and bottle opener which usually would make my day but everything Spurs at the moment is just getting me down.

An ideal present would be 3 points tomorrow.

Anyway, apologies for the waffle but I went out with my family for lunch and whilst having a few pints waiting for the food I picked up a copy of the Independent and came across James Lawton's column.

I think we should start judging Comolli's signings from now.

If you look at players like Lennon, Dawson & Defoe, players who were here before Comolli & players like Bent, Malbranque & Zokora & look at how they've become shit you have to start thinking about the way they've been coached.

I think now is the time to re-evaluate our players because a lot of them have bags of potential but haven't been able to realise it.

I'm hoping Ramos will do the biz, and although the piece is a bit boring and wishy washy, I do have doubts about the Dof and head coach system we've introduced. I still feel more comfortable with the traditional English system of manager running the show.
