other clubs out there that play in an area that is not what their name says. So why would we be the first to come under this problem?

I don't know. I'm not leading the argument for it! Just saying what's being reported, and commenting on the horifficness of such a thing coming true.

Got too many miles on the clock to give up on `em now.
Would grudgingly mope along.
Until i saw how shiny and new everything was and i`d forget that Haringey ever existed.

wtf with the spelling!

I really dunno, today in the car it really dawned on me the reality that we could very well move the Stratford and become London Hotspur or something.

I really dunno what I'd do...I guess I'd support the team still but I mean the whole reason I support and stick with the team is the tradition and history and even when we were a total joke we always had that.

I guess I would carry on supporting the team as I could not bear to support anyone else and at the end of the day it will be the same players the same badge etc.

I genuinely feel we will become London Hotspur and the biggest/richest team in the country, and owned by some arab or american....people will quickly forget all this bad feeling now when that happens IMO...not condoning it but its what I see happening

The 'Stradford Hotspur' name change obviously wouldn't happen. The people at the club that would make that decision would have to weigh up the positives, of which there are none, against the negatives, which would enrage the entire fanbase. Anyone that would believe that the name change could happen has a dangerously narrow perception of things.

It will be London Hotspur if it happens and the council kick up a fuss....I'm almost convinced of this, makes a shitload of sense, next to the city with lots of hospitality, when foreign clients come over...why not take them to see "London's" team. Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, all have their own team/s - London is segmented to boroughs.

If Levy and co pull it off Spurs will become a MASSIVE side but at the cost of our soul, even the hardcore traditionalists up at Liverpool accepted it for success when they sold to the Yanks.

Again no ITK just opinion, I feel when you look at it now it makes a lot of sense for Joe Lewis, ENIC, Levy et al. and even moreso for Boris and the City of London.

Fuck knows! I've been trying not to think about it.

I wouldn't stop supporting the club, or anything as extreme as that. I would be extremely disappointed though. I feel Levy sees the OS as "the easy option" now. He doesn't have to raise the £450m to fund the NDP, and doesn't want to have the bother of having to worry about the parts of the plans which involve things other than the stadium (hotels, housing, etc etc).

There will be no more "North London Derby" no more taunts about "immigrant gypsy Arsenal down the road" - we'll be no better than them. No more The Pride of North London.

I would be sad, very sad. But the club exists beyond me and my feelings for it, and will no doubt tick along nicely regardless. So, no doubt, I'll get to Stratford when I can as I do with WHL.... or more, hopefully, if I can eventually live the dream and get that Season Ticket, eventually.

Completely agree with all of this

Cant be too careful especialy in the transfer window, people think everything is itk.

Think what you will now, if we win the bid you will see..

You'd put money on the name of the club changing to London Hotspur? It's a nonsensical suggestion, even (perhaps especially) from a branding perspective as you are approaching it. Why advance a brand by buying well known players, and succeeding in the world's biggest club competition and then change the name? That kind of thing never happens. We are building a brand, not reinventing ourselves.

Your claim may (if it catches on as an idea) only serve to further encourage mass panic amongst supporters dead against a move that the club has determined is the most viable in terms of increasing the success of the club.

I think I'd probably watch a lot more porn on a Saturday afternoon.

But as that isn't a poll option, I'll go with Only to to away games at the present time.

Whether that includes going to Stratford, as that to me will be an away ground, I just don't know.

I hope this is not a decision I have to make in real life and that West Ham get given the OS, as I love my season ticket, the guys I stand next to (yeah, stand, fuck off Green Team), the pre and post match drinks, coming on here, reading Newsnow, the banter with rival fans, being able to strike up a two hour conversation with total strangers because we both love football.

That said, as you all know I am passionately for the NDP and against the OS, and the prospect of giving cash to someone, i.e. Levy, who has forced my into deciding whether to rip my heart out by giving up football or to abandon my principles kills me. That applies to buying away tickets as well.

Fuck, I don't know what I'd do.

Why does the highlighted apply if we built a new stadium in Stratford instead of on the original site? Edit: Sorry, may have missed the point

If we 100% own the TM for Tottenham Hotspur then how could they object. Chelsea aren't in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea they are in Hammersmith and Fulham? Whats the problem?

What about away games on TV? Will you just not support us when we have a home game?
