I'm sorry but comments like this is are not really helping things!

Some people seem to think its fine for us to just upsticks and move out of Tottenham, and IF and thats IF we are forced to drop the Tottenham from our name so be it.

That is just crazy IMO.

I'm personally against moving and being forced to change our name due to the move, and anyone who thinks this is ok is basically a plastic fan!

We will lose our identity and heritage if this happens.

It's easy to say it won't happen but thats just being naive.

We are about to move into a peroid of change at the club that might very well determine the clubs future for alot of people.

No it isn't. Saying we will change our name, which we would not have to do, and would result in no benefit to the club, and would also enrage the fanbase is being not only naive but thick into the bargain.

Tell me what reason you have to believe that the club would change it's name.

A move to the Olympic stadium wouldn't be the end of the world, I'd still support them. Not that it's my prefered option though...

If we were to change our name (because we were forced to because of location) we should opt for something ironic....

There is a Dorset Place quite close by....so Dorset Hotspur.
there is a Trafford Close close by...so Trafford Hotspur.

Or, on a more comedy note, Pudding lane and Knobshill Road would give amusing naming options.

Knobshill Hotspur.

Has anyone read anywhere that if West Ham are awarded the OS that they would be forced to change name? NO as its people being pathetic.

Mind you in the interest of fair play maybe Shammy should threaten them with the same tripe he threatens us with.

How about Totingham Hotspur? Lammy won't be able to make any fuss on that name.

If we need to change our name, we should probably just drop the first part of the name. If we were to add 'stratford' then what's going to happen if, say, fifty years down the road, we re-located again (for some reason or other).

Some do cos they can, behind their pc's ....childish i think:grin:

it would be so nice if we could organise a SC annual party, and everyone could meet up and become friends..

Oh, man...SP would get so many pummels, and wouldn't have his Transyvanian peasant hat to help him:cry:

Nearly 5000 people who have so far signed the petition and probably at least double that figure since not everybody knows about the petition. If our bid is approven I'm certain there will be protests outside WHL opposing the move. The location of the club means alot to so many Spurs fans, so please don't say "Who cares?"

I don't agree with Kish in general on this subject, but he is right about this. Lots of people care. I am not as vehemently against the (propsed) move as some, if it is unavoidable, so be it. But I do care, I would like it if the club could go ahead with the NDP, and will feel it is a sad day if/when we move.

Does that make Arsenal Tottenham 2.0?

No. ArseScum Tottenham 2.3:hump:

Which one would be available first, because I fear that we will lose our best players unless we offer them bigger wages and therefore we have to move to a bigger stadium sooner than later.

I don't believe 10000 fans won't go to Stratford. People who've signed that petition will go, people who go on demonstrations will go. There will be a break away, of course, but as with FC United, it will be as much about the culture of modern football as anything else.

But the club will lose a lot of the resilience in its fan base in doing so. We'd get 36k in the Championship in the current ground.. Move to Stratford and Europa League won't be good enough. Expecations will rise, as the club will have filtered out the fans who put soul before glory.

This is a valid point.
