Out for 2-3 months

David Ornstein, BBC SportKallstrom update
"Kim Kallstrom suffered a back injury in his first training with Arsenal and is being assessed by the club's medical staff amid reports that he could be set for a lengthy spell out.

"The 31-year-old Sweden midfielder joined Arsenal on transfer deadline day in a loan deal until the end of the season from Spartak Moscow.

"Kallstrom - the Gunners' only January signing was recruited as cover for the injured Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, and suspended Mathieu Flamini."

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I've been told by an Arsenal 'mate' that it's all rubbish and Kallstrom just picked up a knock. Of course, I hope he's been fed some bad information.

The only person stopping Arse spunk untold millions, in-particular on Draxler, is Wenger who just refuses point blank to spend big money if he doesn't feel, in his own mind, they aren't worth that fee.

The board are desperate to spend big time to appease fans, but as Wenger is a Dictator he just won't let them and their hands are tied.

not true at all

Initial reports said that the player could be away for up to two or three months. Gonella denies that.

– I think two or three months is a little excessive. I am not in a position to evaluate it, our medical team will do that, Mark Gonella says to Sportbladet.

But according to BBC, the player is out for atleast six games; Crystal Palace, Liverpool twice, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Sunderland. He is expected back in March when the team is to play against Stoke City.

The injury is a major blow for Arsenal, who brought in Källström to cover for injured Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere.

Reports out that Arsenal are trying to offload him back to Moscow. Why would they need want to do that? He's only on loan, they're not paying for him, I don't get it. Do loan recipients have to pay for medical bills or something?

We've had players out on loan to other clubs that have come back after getting injured. I think it's pretty normal.

It makes sense that the club that owns the player is the one that treats them. Could you imagine if the player had a major setback when being treated at their loan club? That club would be liable, and would have to pay hefty compensation to the club that owns the player.

Players who get injured go back to parent club for treatment if they are out for a extended period of time

Arsenal probably trying to send him back and not pay his wages

Yeah well that must be the reason. There's no other reason they'd want to send him back. Having him sitting around injured would otherwise do no harm. If he was injured when Arsenal signed him then Moscow should have no option other than to treat him and you would think that would be an easy legal battle. But apparently Moscow don't want him back.

This is news to me, I thought loan players would be paid by their parent clubs, who their contract is with. Surely this isn't always the case in every loan deal. Say an 18 year old gets loaned out, the parent club is benefiting from their player getting precious experience at another club when they would otherwise be doing fuck all. It seems like the loan club is doing a bigger favour for the parent club than the parent club is doing for the loan club. At the very least I would have expected the wages to be paid 50% from each club, but not 100% by the loan club that's ridiculous. Anyway, a report came out saying that Spartak Moscow agreed to continue paying Kallstrom’s wages for at least another six weeks. So if that's true, then it must be down to medical liability that Arsenal want to send him back.

The loaning club paying 100% of wages is perfectly common.

Did I say parent club?
lol, why the attitude? You don't have to say something in order to mean it. Thought you were giving the term "parent club" another name, in "loaning" club. It could mean the team loaning the player to another club or the team loaning the player from another club
