This is not a thread to debate which players to sign – there’s a perfectly good Transfer section for that – but it is a thread to look at the current squad options, and the constraints on Poch to change the playing staff (like most managers)

With the first PL match 2 weeks away, its certainly time to see how the squad is shaping up (I've assumed that either N'Koudou arrives with N'Jie leaving or that N'Jie stays).

Our squad (with youngsters on Australia tour in brackets) :

GK (2) -
Lloris, Vorm, (plus McGee, Glover)

FB (5) Walker (A), Rose (C), Davies (A), Yedlin, Tripper, (plus Walker-Peters)

CB (3)
Vertonghen, Alerweireld, Wimmer, (plus Carter-Vickers, Ball, Walkes)

CM (5) Dier, Wanyama, Dembele, Mason (C), Carroll (C), (Plus Winks, Amos)

AM
(7) Lamela, Chadli, Eriksen, Alli (u21), Onomah (u21), Son, N’Koudou (u21)/Njie, (Plus Edwards, Miller)

FWD (2) Kane (C), Janssen, (Plus Harrison)

Total – 24 players (Plus 11 players in brackets)

Others :
Fazio, Bentaleb (u21), Pritchard (C)

Squad Composition :
Club trained
(Rose, Mason, Carroll, Kane) = 4
Other FA Club Trained (Walker, Davies, Trippier) = 3
Overseas Trained (Lloris, Vorm, Yedlin, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Dier, Wimmer, Wanyama, Dembele, Lamela, Chadli, Eriksen, Son, Janssen) = 14
Under 21’s (Onomah, Alli, N'Koudou) = 3

All 11 of the younger players in brackets who were included on the Australia tour 2016 count as u21 players, and in time would count as ‘Club Trained’

With Poch being on record that Bentaleb, Pritchard and Fazio being on his list of players to leave, no point in debating these further, but it does mean that we have only 4 Club Trained players over the age of 21 and its therefore probably unlikely any of these will leave this season in order to bring in an overseas trained player – although with a number of u21 players who would be Club Trained once they get to age 21 the club is well placed for the long term.

Overall seems Poch has a pretty complete squad with any weaknesses covered by the youngsters who were on the Australian tour and being auditioned by Poch for possible first team action.

This season althought Alli's born lafter 31 Dec 1994

But in UCL he could be count in List A player cause he stay with us less than 2 year (refer rules 43.11)

And If we do not sales/loan Bentaleb & Grant Ward

I thought, They have to register in List A too cause they born before 1 Jan 1995

Otherwise I almost agreed with you

Sorry for my english not quiet good
Cause I came from Spurthailand official fan club

Hi Mate, your English is fine, thanks for making the effort to post in a language which isn't your own.

I think Deli Alli was born 11/4/1996 so on 1 January 1996 (the date for 1996/97 season) he's under 21 years old.

I've only listed players who have been first team players (or bought for it like Janssen) and them added the youth team players who made the Australia squad - that way its indisputable that Poch is happy to take a good look at them in action, otherwise agree I could have added Grant, maybe Ogilvie and one or two others. I left out Bentaleb and Pritchard after seeing Poch's interview where he said they weren't in his plans.

Worth also pointing out that OP is based upon PL rules.

Under UEFA rules, u21's need to have been with the club for 2 years to be eligible to be on List B, which means in turn that N'Koudou and, I think Alli, need to be put on List A to play.

Which in turn means that on List A we will have :
4 Club Trained Players
4 Other FA Club Trained Players (ie including Alli)
15 Overseas Trained Players (ie including N'Koudou, assuming that he is signed and N'Jie leaves)
23 Total Players Registered on List A

I wonder if Alli would be eligible for List B after January 1 - i.e. if we make the knockout rounds in either CL or bumped down to Europa. Does not make a whole lot of difference since he has to be listed on List A this fall, but he officially joined the club in January, and was then loaned out to MK.

Grant Ward has been sold to Ipswich Town today, as per club's OS.

I'm not sure exactly how the definition works - except that he has to have been at Spurs for 2 years before he is aged 21 - and loans from Spurs don't count in the 2 years.

So my guess is that until the end of 2016/17 he cannot be classed as an u21, and therefore must be on List A

When Marcus Edwards joint us mate?

The OS said he joint us 1 Jul 15, if it correct that mean he could be in List A too, if MP would like him to play in Europe.

He wasnt a footballer before 1 Jul 15, he was still in school

I think the first time a few of us saw him was when he 12 and played in poland but he has been here for over 7 years, since he was 8 iirc
