Keepers: Lloris, Vorm, Freidal
Defenders: Kaboul, Vertonghen, Walker, Rose, Fazo, Chiriches, Davies, Dier, Naughton.
Midfielders: Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli, Capoue, Stambouli, Demebele, Bentaleb, Lennon, Paulinho, Townsend.
Stikers: Adebayor, Soldado, Kane.

Are we happy with this? Probably could of used a left sided attacker cum striker but I'm content that this squad is good enough to challenge top 4.

cum striker

Think we all wanted one of those :D

I think we lack creativity in our backup options for attacking midfield. Holtby wasn't the greatest but he was certainly more creative than Lennon or Paulinho. A couple of injuries and we could be in a lot of trouble attacking.

That defence at least looks a lot more solid than it has in a bloody long time. We're clearly lacking two or three of real quality, but hopefully our stars can stay fit and Poch can improve the peripheral players given time.

Completely agree, we are missing 2 very important players in our squad, another creative player as back up and a wide forward with good movement off the ball (likes to get in behind the defence) and pace.

I know a lot of people think we needed to upgrade on the CM 2 as well but I want to see what Poch can do with Capoue, Stambouli, Bentaleb, Dembele & Mason first.

Looking at the squad with the rules in mind. We can only name 23 (we got 25) senior players in the Premier League squad, as we lack 2 home grown players to be allowed a maximum squad.
This mean Khumalo and Assou-Ekotto are not likely to be registered.
Also mean that if we had bought another "foreigner" then Ceballos would have had to go.

For UEFA purposes - we have 4 players that are club trained, but as with in Premier League we lack 2 of the total 8 home grown. So also there we'll be limited to register fewer than 25 players for our A list.
There will however be a further impact on the squad as Dier and Davies also will count as senior in UEFA competition - as UEFA only see a player as U21 if he has been with the club for atleast two years. Davies will count as an association trained player when he's added to the A list, so in UEFA competition we'll be allowed 24 senior players.
Who will be the one to miss out? Easy to say Ceballos, but then again Europa League would be his most likely source for game time ..

Everyone can be played in the domestic cup competitions

LLORIS, VORM, FRIEDEL
WALKER, NAUGHTON
FAZIO, KABOUL, VERTONGHEN, CHIRICHES, (Dier, Veljkovic)
ROSE, (Davies)
CAPOUE, STAMBOULI, DEMBELE, MASON, (Bentaleb, Winks)
ERIKSEN, LAMELA, PAULINHO, CHADLI, LENNON, TOWNSEND, CEBALLOS
ADEBAYOR
, SOLDADO, (Kane)

Khumalo, Assou-Ekotto

So Ceballos can be named? I hope he gets game time with the first team. Very impressed with him during the tour. As I was with Mason. Hope they get game time along with some u21s like Veljkovic and Winks.

Squad is decent but compared to our rivals we're some way off. I can't see us finishing above 6th which would be a par imo.

We'll have to name a 23 man squad, because we only have 6 homegrown:

Lloris
Vorm
Friedel
--
Walker
Naughton
Rose
--
Verts
Fazio
Chiriches
Kaboul
--
Capoue
Paulinho
Dembele
Eriksen
Stombouli
Mason
--
Lamela
Chadli
Lennon
Townsend
Ceballos
--
Soldado
Ade

But then the following 5 are free (U21):

Davies
Dier
Veljkovic
Bentaleb
Kane

BAE and Khumalo can't be named because we already have our 17 overseas

I'm happy with that squad. More solid at the back but the attacking players will need to step up and share the goals. We don't have the proven maverick who can win us games regularly.

Unless Stambouli, a player most of us have never heard of, is THAT player, I worry a bit about our collective CM options lacking speed of thought (the issue we've had since Modric left). Overall I think it's a good squad which will see us finish top six and at least challenge for, if not win, a cup, but it's hard to see us challenging for the top four this season unless one of our strikers really takes the league by storm.

Happy geberally though. I imagine things will look like this once things take shape:

Lloris
(Vorm)
Walker Fazio Vertonghen Davies
(Naughton Kaboul Dier Rose)
Capoue Stambouli
(Dembele Bentaleb)
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
(Townsend Paulinho Lennon)
Adebayor
(Soldado)

Spare: Friedel Chiriches Kane

17 foreign, 6 senior home grown, 2 under 21 home grown.

2 experienced players for each position.

Key to all this working is our CMs stepping up to the plate and doing what we need then to do. It's up to Pochettino to coach it into them now.

It's a solid platform and is the basis of a good squad. This squad now needs to grow and adapt to Poch's systems and really take on everything they can so that they become more about team than individuals as this is the only way we will compete. On the whole the squad looks a little beige, it doesn't have any standout players and I worry where the outstanding moments will come from but we are in this for the long haul and building a solid foundation and giving some of our youngsters a chance to develop appears priority this year.

Then once we have a clear understanding of the ethos at the end of the season we need to go out and get difference makers.

Agree with most of your first/second team but I think Kane will be first choice for the second team either in the 3 or the 1.

it looks solid to me, should be good enough for a repeat of last years position though we'll probably have to finish ahead of ManU again to achieve that and who knows how thats going to go. We look 'thin' in the striking department which worries me.
