He may only have turned 21 in September, but the Senegalese midfielder has already become a crucial cog in Spurs' Ange's style of football machine.

When Pape Matar Sarr was twiddling his thumbs on the Tottenham Hotspur bench for much of the second half of last season, the chances of him not only establishing himself in their starting XI in 2023-24 but playing a starring role appeared slim.
