Driving to the new ground from Bushey and so I drove to Enfield Town station and got the train to White Hart Lane. Wasn’t too bad yesterday....but I noticed that the Palace Exchange Car Park next to the station closes at 10 so it will be no good for the Palace game. And the others look they close even earlier. Anybody with ‘local knowledge’ got any ideas where the best place to park close to the station for a midweek game...?

Hi guys, I was planning to do the same. I'm considering driving round the M25 to Enfield and getting the train in. Where is recommended to park?

What is it like getting into and out of WHL back to Enfield after the game? It's a journey I've never done.

I drive in from Abbots Langley and I tend to park in the area just off the A10, between Travelodge and Gt Cambridge Roundabout. Most of the residential streets around there are fairly quiet as long as you can find a road with minimal driveways.

Willow Rd, about a five minute walk from the station, no restrictions there, although check before u park there because I moved out of Enfield about a year ago.

Failing that, the road next to Tescos (End of Willow Rd) leads to loads of other little roads where you'll be able to park if u look around a bit...about the same, 5 minute walk from the station.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Only problem is at the moment I haven’t been able to get tickets for either game because of the farce that is our website. Yet again this morning I was looking at the ‘wheel of death’ for 40 minutes to then find at 10.40 there was 4 seats left in the ground....! And every time I selected one it came up with ‘Unable to select this ticket....’. You would think that we could create some software that would secure a seat and remove it from view. So what’s the point of remaining a member if you can’t get a ticket...? Even allowing for the novelty of the early games....if it’s like this for Huddersfield what chance of getting any others..?? Nice of the club to keep emailing me about the Premium seats that are - strangely - still available......at £799 each...!

Thanks for that mate. What's it usually like getting the train from WHL to Enfield after the game? I know it will be busy, but assume the trains are frequent?

I'm not sure anyone can answer that yet, it was a problem for the under18's and it was a real bloody pain in the arse after the legends game but as the Lee valley line was closed down there were thousands more than there is likely to be normally, that said there will be twice as many of us from now on than in the old ground so that's no example to use either. I'm afraid we are going to have to suck it and see.

Fingers crossed Northumberland park will be open then!

I went to the Legends game on Saturday and parked at Enfield Town in the multi story....but that closes at 10 so no good for the Palace game..! Trains were running every half an hour....which is another joke and just allows the crowd to build up. I left after 70 minutes and before I’d got on the train they were already saying that they had locked the gates to prevent anyone else coming on the platform. Ironically while I was waiting for mine there was about 5 going in the opposite direction....their platform was empty..!

All southbound trains go to Liverpool street but northbound trains were split four or five different routes, I queued for over half an hour and then waited on the platform for nearly half an hour for my train so I'm having a rethink.

the northbound trains do seem a little chaotic. Ideally they would have different queues for Enfield, Cheshunt etc, a bit like they do at Wembley. I got on the platform on Saturday and then like many others had to wait for two trains to go through before mine arrived.

yeah that's made me have a rethink. I'm coming from South West London and I think WHL station needs to be avoided.

I'm going to drive to Richmond and tube to Seven Sisters from there. I think the long walk from the stadium to Seven Sisters will thin out the crowd on the way back anyway. Whereas WHL will be rammed.

After the game stay on the left side of the road and use that access to Seven Sisters. As in the right they use traffic control and you can get stuck in a long queues.

What hasn’t helped either is I’ve just looked at the train times from WHL to Enfield and they are at 9.22 and then 9.52...! So unless you want to leave about a quarter of an hour before the end it’s going to be chaos trying to get the 9.52....and then you have to wait another half an hour...!

Yeah that's wiped out Enfield as an option. At least with the tube I know it will be regular trains, same reason I'm driving to Richmond as it gives me the option of regular trains to Richmond, rather than getting overground from Vauxhall to my local train station which is only twice an hour. If I miss it, I'll be sitting on the platform for 30 minutes, which makes the journey back significantly longer.

Wembley was actually much easier for me to get to living in the SW, not that I'm complaining we are back in Tottenham :)
