Hey Guys,

Im travelling up from wales for the game against liverpool and as its a sunday trains are difficult so one of my friends has decided to drive me up.

We need somewhere to park that will allow us to get away at a decent hour? Which is also pretty close to wembley?

Not sure if the club do any offical parking I could look into?

No idea as I always tube it but I know parking is very difficult and the club advise against it. There does seem to be a multi storey near Wembley Stadium train station but speaking of which as you are coming from the West it may be worth parking somewhere on that line that goes Oxfordshire way.

Surely the trains are going to Stadium station and on to Marylebone?

There is the official Wembley Red csr park which is right by the stadium and costs £40 on match days. There are others nearby which are not official and charge around £20/£25.

Personally I park by West Harrow station on the Metropolitan line on the road for nothing and take the tube for 4 stops to Wembley Park

I'd echo what Spurs 1961 says and you'll be back on the M25 in no time . I park at a tube station or on the street for free a couple of stops north of Wembley and my journey back to Kent is only 15 minutes longer than it was from WHL

How safe is this option haha?

As we have a brand new company car do not fancy that getting damaged.

It is the owners of the houses who rent their driveways out. I guess it's safer than parking on a public street.

My friend, who lives on Merrion Avenue, Stanmore (5 min walk to the station) has rented his driveway space 20 times in the past year to football fans.

He's never had an issue.

I've always found that Preston Road car park works quite well. Was £5 on match days last season. It's one stop on the tube to Wembley Park or a 25 minute walk, which is handy after the match as you don't have to bother with the queues for the tube. Also far enough from the ground to avoid most of the match traffic. You can get a ticket in advance from the Brent Council website.

I live in nw london and been experimenting with the different routes. The best option for me has been getting the tube from harrow and wealdstone, it’s free parking on Saturdays/sundays in some of the surrounding streets (Marlborough hill) near the station car park (which is £7) and a couple of stops, probably ten minutes on the bakerloo line. Also, if you park in the front of the council building in their car park it’s cheaper than the station car park, pay and display.

Stanmore, Kingsbury etc are a nightmare to park unless you know the area and there’s loads of streets with no restrictions but if you don’t know the area can be hard to find. The advantage is its right next to the M1.

Parking St Ann’s in Harrow on the Hill is two stops from Wembley Park £6 I think.

Another good option if coming from M4 is parking at Westfield Sheperds Bush on the A40 for £6 if you register your number plate on the website. (M4, north onto m25, exit onto A40) , get the main line up to Wembley Central, ten minutes with one change at Willesden Junction. The Westfield train station is right outside the car parking but on Saturdays it fills up after mid day. I drove past Hanger Lane last night and they are resurfacing it, it’s a disaster zone for the next few weeks. If you stay on the a40 in the outside lane you miss the nightmare, the traffic is caused by the slip road at Hanger Lane from Perivale/Hoover building.

Red parking (behind holiday inn) at Wembley is £40 but £1 per hour if you spend £40 in the shopping centre and show them receipts. There’s Nando’s, a few sports shops, Levi’s and the rest so not so bad if you need food and clothes. But leaving after the game is heavy traffic.

I am not sure how you stand for insurance. There are also car parks of Brent which again charge around £20 or so but these might he 'official'

Agreed re Westfield. I live in Shepherd's Bush and it's a pretty easy journey.

Thinking the only plus side is it's a sunday and everybody should be in church lol

I do it from Bristol and find the best way is to drive to somewhere zone 6/outskirts and train in. I used to do Ickenham but lately have been doing South Ruislip as its a direct overground to Wembley Stadium which is easy to get out of. I'm normally home by 12:15am

Has anybody used these?

Like what's the chances of turning up and them telling us nah your not parking here because this could be the way to go as we could park just far enough from the stadium to get out quickly on foot and onto the motorway for the way home.

I think I used justpark on one occasion last year and it was OK though I think where I parked is now under development. You might find with these spaces you get boxed in and have to wait to get out, like a number of parking places near WHL
