Arguably the best manager outside of the premiership, he got Norwich promoted at the first time of asking after beating them 7-1 with his Colchester side on the first day of the season, and has them in third place in the league.

Rumours in East Anglia are that he's been snapped up by Burnley.

High-flying Norwich City have rejected an approach from Championship rivals Burnley to speak to boss Paul Lambert.
The Clarets have been without a manager since sacking Brian Laws on 29 December, with Stuart Gray placed in temporary charge of the first team.
But a statement on the Norwich website read: "Under no circumstances would the club wish to grant permission."

The Turf Moor club are understood to have a shortlist of six candidates, with Lambert leading the contenders.
"The club has begun the process of targeting the shortlist of candidates to fill the vacant manager's role at Turf Moor," read a statement on Burnley's official website.
"And club officials have subsequently requested permission from the Norwich City board of directors to discuss the position with Lambert."
Norwich, third in the Championship and level on points with second-placed Cardiff on 43, will not want to lose Lambert, who has been in charge at Carrow Road since August 2009 after taking over from the sacked Bryan Gunn.

Lambert led the Canaries out of League One and back into the Championship, where the club has made an excellent start to the season.
The Scot has been nominated for the Championship's manager of the month award for December alongside Watford boss Malky Mackay, Leeds' Simon Grayson and Reading manager Brian McDermott.

And Norwich are determined to hang on to the services of the 41-year-old.
"The club will fight tooth and nail to retain the services of Paul Lambert and his team during this critical period of the season and whilst they remain employed under a long-term contract," continued the Canaries' statement.
"The club remain committed to Paul and his team in the long term and see them as a vital part of our plans."
Burnley are 11th in the Championship and have won one and lost one match since Law's dismissal on 29 December..

If they don't Burnley will probably pay the compensation anyway and gamble that a court won't value him too highly.

Norwich can't afford to let him go, they could wipe off their debt if they go up, and they've got a massive chance under Lambert despite not having money available this season.

I would have thought Norwich would be the more attractive club. I know they've both got debt issues but why mess up what he's achieved at Norwich to have to start building a team at Burnley.
