This is something that's always bothered me and I guess this thread is a good place as any to mention it.

I started listening to talk sport in the mornings on my commute to work and I can't remember a single day (when Alan Brazil) is on that he does not mention drinking or gambling. That sound he makes (pulling is finger on the side of his mouth, making a popping sound) when he's referring to champagne is just cringe worthy and he's always taking about putting bets on.
The point is, there is much more that can be done to assist some people from taking this path or even those trying to get out of it

I no longer listen to that shite station, which is a shame as he used to have some good guests on there
The hypocrisy from them is quite staggering...they had a call in a while back on Jim Whites show where gambling addicts were calling in and telling their tales, people who’d lost everything due to it...punctuated with ad-breaks littered with betting companies.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so fucking sad.

It's hard to like him because he is a Gooners but he is so passionate about football you have to like him. He's human and has frailties that are so hard to imagine if you don't suffer from them. He came from a football culture that is so far away from the players of today have been brought up on.

Being a football fan above all else I hope he gets the treatment he needs.

Well said. I don’t mind Merson, he is quite funny at times but not the brightest.
He had Luke Shaw as best left back in the world the other week.
Watching Ruddock this week....what an absolute plank. No doubt they put him on that programme for entertainment value.

I agree with most points, but, if Robbie Fowler wants to go out on the piss good fucking luck to him. He dedicated himself to football & was fucking good at it. Now he's retired he can do what he wants as far as I'm concerned
No wonder Fowler can’t get a coaching job. These lot need to grow up.
Harry didn’t help by presenting Sandra’s passport at the airport.

It definitely needs more regulation, even as a casual acca gambler Ladbrokes are constantly trying to entice me into other gambling streams with offers and deals.

I do £5 or £10 a week on an accumulator and that's it, never put any of my own cash into anything else on their app but what they've started doing now is giving you 2 free fruit machine spins for every game you get correct on an acca, so they try and draw you into that by giving you a taster. And the slot games are genuinely fun, you have brands on there like Family Guy and Goonies which again draw you in.

It was the same last week with Cheltenham races, they gave me a £1 free bet every day of the festival hoping you'll get hooked and spend your own cash. Luckily I'm restrained and stick to my small acca's but I can certainly see how people can get sucked into it so easily.

I've never heard of this before but is it genuinely worth it? Do you have to put a lot of time into it or can you dip in and out without much effort?
you get out what you put in, the more you do the more profit you make, but you can do easy things and still make £200/£500 a month only a few hours a week

Basically as @Blockbuster says. It's quite easy to make a couple of hundred a month just on the bare minimum of sports offers. Most people go through the sign-ups, make about £500 - £1k and stop. I would say I put a total of about 1-2hrs a day into it as I have multiple accounts. It's not going to make you mega rich, but can easily return enough for a decent holiday or to pay off some debts with very little effort.
