Not going to happen.

Tottenham Hotspur will look towards Wolfsburg's Olaf Rebbe as they search for a Director of Sport, per @Sky_SvenT. More follows.

Rebbe was asked about Spurs' interest by German magazine Kicker and replied: "This is not an issue for me.

"I took a very challenging task on here just under two months ago", the 38-year-old explained.

Greg Stobart, who has always been pretty up to speed with what was going on a Spurs, published this on Squawka ealier:

http://www.squawka.com/news/paul-mi...-show-more-ambition-in-transfer-market/908159

Nothing groundbreaking by ties in with what @JJetset said about Mitchell not being at the club.

Anyway, sounds like positive steps are being taken to prepare us for the summer and beyond.

I do find it a bit weird that the previous set-up is seen as such a mess for the club, given that it wasn't that long ago they appointed Mitchell and Pochettino seems pretty clear about his philosophy and what he wants.

Spurs turned down Ousmane Dembele & Alexander Isak for fraction of eventual fees. New chief scout Steve Hitchen now calling the shots.

Sad thing is it could well be true, I remember when griezmann left sociedad people were pestering jj about if we were interested and the reply was '1 in 3 player'....

The best itk says rated a 1 in 3 player, I think he's more in the club loop than us, the tweet is out there, I ain't finding it, SC's as close as I come to social media

Guess the genius is spotting the potential, the way the tweet was written though was as in performances rather than goal return. If you watched him at sociedad you'd know he played lw rather than centrally though so 1 in 4' s actually a decent return

I didn't know that that as I never watched RS. And there is no genius when it comes to spotting talent, it's stats , experience, luck and who ever mentions when they got a player wrong. And for every Griezeman there is a League 2 Ali or Kane released by Arsenal. But I don't think its fair or wise to call out JJ on that tweet, he is one of the few guys that still gives info so let's not bite the hand that feeds us.

It's not jj I'm calling out, the way the tweet reads was that that was the clubs/ scouts opinion, no one moans when sherwood and sir les get abused for passing Suarez up.

Never watched rs but knew enough to comment on his career...

Tbf I think there's was a substantial difference in the two scenarios. Suarez was more than just potential, he was by far the standout player in the Dutch league at that time. With Griezmann it was clear he had talent, but what was not clear was how consistent he could become. In all transfers there is an element of dice rolling going on, and the hardest job is knowing just how much of a gamble each player will be.

Rangnick would be brilliant, but I don't think there's anyway we pry him out of RB's hands.

Hasn't Stobart been largely discredited as a source?
By his own admission, he hasn't had as much info since Sherwood's crew left.

Saying that as far as I can tell, he is the only source that said David Webb had joined in the first place. In fact, I think he is the only source that David Webb was ever at the club, if he even exists.
