Monchi would be the dream, but he is very highly regarded and, to be honest, why the fuck would he want to come here and work with D Levy? Can't imagine it's much of a dream job. I can't really see anyone well established wanting to work with Levy unless we give them a huge wage packet. Which would happen never.

Monchi I supposedly good at getting value for money and this is what Levy wants, no reason to believe they wouldn't work well together. The key is the relationship with Pochettino, if that somehow got damaged in a power struggle over signings we'd be screwed.

I would be cautious about taking anyone who recruits for clubs like Sevilla or Atletico.

A major market for them is to bring in young South American players and then later sell them on for massive profits. We can't do that here. A lot of the players they bring in this way wouldn't have their work permits cleared for us.

Tottenham will go into the January transfer window with their head of recruitment Paul Mitchell serving out a lengthy notice period.

The 35-year-old tendered his resignation back in August, but Pochettino has revealed he is not due to leave the club – who are planning to replace him - for a while yet.

“He is still working with us and I think it will not affect the situation,” said the Argentinian. “When he handed in his notice, the notice was 16 months and he will be working until the end of the season, doing the same job.

“It’s normal, it’s difficult to find a replacement. It’s difficult to give the option to move quickly. Always it’s to protect our club and our interests.

“He is doing his job because Tottenham are paying his salary, but it’s not his decision to sign players – it is Tottenham as a club. But with him or without him, or with another person, it’s always difficult to sign players in January.”

Shame Broomfield has left. Was responsible for much of the summer 2012 window which history on thenwhole will be very kind to:

Mousa Dembele (Fulham, £15m), Emmanuel Adebayor (Manchester City, £5m), Jan Vertonghen (Ajax, £10m), Gylfi Sigurdsson (Hoffenheim, £8m), Hugo Lloris (Lyon, £13m), Clint Dempsey (Fulham, £6m)

Pochettino also revealed that the club will be looking for somebody to take on the role of Head of Recruitment, replacing Paul Mitchell who is still officially employed by the club.

"Paul Mitchell is still working for us. it's a normal process to find another person who can cope with his job in the future.

"It is true here at Tottenham we need to replace him. The club believe that, not only me."

Any directors of football/heads of recruitment on wish lists? Monchi is an obvious call - any others?
