Paulinho's last minute back heel goal against Burnley was the highlight of his brief career at Spurs. It's good to see him ripping it up for Barca- he's a quality player.

Here is another Vardy.

Clearly got back on the juice in China, he looks 10 times fitter and stronger than he did at Spurs.

He still can't get a game in a big game for Barca. Fine against Getafe and Eiber.

He was useless wherever he played for us.

Wikipedia says Paulinho played 30 times in all comps in the only season he was working with Poch. All but a few must have been out of position, I guess.

Him and Adebayor turning their backs in the wall was before this, but his 'shot' vs Burnley was not.

He just wasn't very good for us, regardless of where he played. He was pretty good in the Confed Cup before joining and then, largely, a let down.

I agree he wasnt very good for us but he wouldnt be a getting in the Brazil side or Barcelona squad if he wasnt good player.

that's the mystery of it all. Why wasn't he very good for us, why China at that point in his career and then why Barcelona off the back of the CSL.

Always looked to me like he didn't want to get a knock before the Wprld Cup and consequently pussied out of every tackle.

Im sure Pochettino could come out and give a very reasonable argument as to why he didnt play as often in his favourite position but why would he bother? Its not his job to provide him with opportunities. Its Paulinho's job to grasp them and make himself undroppable.

I actually liked him at the time but cry me a river. Glad he's gone tbh....

I think if i am reading correctly he has scored more goals than Ronaldo this season. He has by all accounts fared better than Lamela when you look at what he has achieved.

Barca very, very rarely buy a poor player.

Flame away.

Gratuitous comment about Lamela, a player who has prospered under Poch in a way Paulinho did not. Oh, by the way, they play in different roles, but don't let that stop your train of logic as it careers wildly.

Good article, The Guardian, about Paulinho giving some insight into the player and his struggles.

Should be a arming tonus to be careful with Dele and not write him off for lapses in form or confidence. He does what Paulinho does only better with his abiliyto drift into space and score goals

I think it is evident that for whatever reason, Pochettino failed to get the best out of Paulinho. It's OK to say that, although why it matters now I don't know. Pochettino isn't a god who get's the best out of everyone. He succeeds with some and not with others, that's just natural. But ironically, Paulinho now is exactly what a "Pochettino-player" is supposed to be.

@UbeAstard there's a whole group of you I like to annoy. You've had it in for Lamela and/or Pochettino, and at the slightest opportunity you stick in the knives. I exist to stamp on your tiny little brains.
