Still settling in and none of our new signings have set the premiership on fire, they can't all be bad buys.

Paulinho and our other signings are struggling to get consistent form, as they're playing in a team that's currently struggling in form and tactics that obviously isn't suiting our players.

His status in the brazil side suggests he's a top player but it does look as though he has issues with passing?! If we are using him incorrectly than what is his best position/formation? Genuine question.

He was a key cog in the same Brazil side that beat Spain 3-0 too. Not a bad player. He's clearly low on confidence, or not willing to fight for the cause.

Apart from our last 2 games, defending hasn't been an issue. So, tells me that our tactics as a team going forward are the issue as opposed to defensively.

But I have been thinking for some time that Paulinho is just a Brazilian Jenas.

Ok so I have chosen a bad time to write this thread but I have been thinking this since day one

What does he do???

If anyone puts up a gif of the Cardiff goal I will go and find all the misses or possibly find Jenas's goals for us

Not counting today, he provides an option for midfielders, and he's a willing runner into the box. He regularly gets ~90% passing, and he's good at flicks and quick thinking. Watch him for Brazil, and then wonder why he doesn't do that for us.

I did see him in the confederation's cup & was not overly excited. Jenas is quick, athletic & has a great shot and burst's forward with the ball.....occasionally

Jenas has next to no ball skills, finds it hard to pass further than 5 yards, refuses to even look forward. He could run, I suppose. Paulinho got 3rd best player at the confeds, and he controlled and kept upping the tempo for Brazil with his one-twos and flicks. And he scored goals.

Paulinho has an awful, awful shot though. I don't think he's gotten a single shot outside the 6 yard box on target.

Edit: Just realised that my avatar might suggest I'm not a fan of Jenas. Just want to say that I wanted Jenas to do well while he was here, but... he didn't.

Ok ok I lied but someone who agrees with me will go find jenas's good bits won't they *HINT*

I can see your reasoning. I thought Jenas could play well and produce moments of brilliance, but was far too inconsistent. Unfortunately Paulinho seems to be fluctuating between anonymity and being impressive as well.

Paulinho is at his best breaking late in to the box. He is not a defence splitting number 10.

The way we are set up is never going to maximise his ability and all we end up doing is stifling him. When we attack so slowly he has no options to pass when he has the ball and can't run past more advanced players as they all play so deep!

Just using him wrong, just like AVB is using every other player we have wrong.

Only Lloris, Sandro and Soldado he is getting right in their positions, everyone else is a cluster fuck. How the hell can a player in Brizallian national team be shit? He is not, so something else is wrong.

Dembele is more like the new Jenas. Paulinho is from the Southern Hemisphere, and he is acclimatising to the conditions of the country and also his working environment. He also has to travel a lot for international matches to satisfy the Brazilian FA gravy train that is the Brazilian national team.

Dembele on the other hand has no excuses.

hadn't noticed Marshall's weird pirouette there. It's like slow internet lag.

Someone mentioned it looks like the ball had a string attached to his right hand. Something I agree with and whenever I see the gif I can't not think of it.

Sadly this goes for majority of our players be it Siggy or Lamela or Soldado or just about anyone. And it's easier to change one in control of setup than all the ingredients.

The way we're set up won't maximise anyone's ability except for Levy's ability to sack
