Signing for a Chinese club probably tells you everything you need to know about the guy.
Having said that we've probably sold him to as an obscure club as possible in case he comes good, less press coverage less embarrassing etc

He served the club as best as he could but found the Prem.pretty tough; maybe he saw China as a new beginning.
Best of luck Paulio.

If you consider it from a career perspective its probably the right choice. He probably sees Evergrande as a quick move away from Spurs. Who is Europe or S. America is going to make a "Levy" acceptable offer for him let alone the £10m that we are getting.

Rather than sit on the bench for another 6 months dropping further off the scene until January and earning limited to no exposure, he's probably been advised to accept the move, go to China for 6 months, perform as well as he can and when the window opens again push for a move back to Europe or South America.

I know that Spurs have prematurely ended many a player's career, but this one really does take the p*ss! Before he joined us he was a credible, relatively young Brazilian International, bought on the back of a successful Copa America tournament. Now he's being shipped over to f*cking China to play in some joke league barely two years later! He must be wondering WTF happened!

Oh well, onwards and upwards I always say...

And I bet you still believe that the EPL is the best in the World :angelic:

Guangzhou Evergrande's stadium capacity is 58,500 and they have won the Chinese Super League (top league in China) for each of the last four seasons (there's only one Vivaldi, only one Vivaldi)

The killer IMO will be the travelling to away games (see map in above link)

The Spurs career destroying machine rolls on. Expect an interview in a few months time about how badly he was treated here etc.

The best two or three teams play in Spain, but generally speaking the EPL is definitely the most competitively challenging league in the world. Who gives a crap about the Chinese Super League outside of China?! ;)

We're a club that takes on good/promising players in the hope they turn into something great. It's worked quite a few times, but not for others. Paulinho is one that didn't work out.
