I don't know how this has happened. He had limited passing range, not very athletic, not creative and couldn't dribble; on top of this he was lazy and a coward. Exactly the sort of player you'd not want to play with or have in your team.

Just pleased he isn't playing for us. Disastrous signing in all aspects. Shame Barcelona are wasting their money on him and not putting it towards their Coutinho funds.

I got six pack abs from laughing so hard when I heard the news. This guy is so so bad I have no idea why Barcelona would possibly want him. Only Sissoko challenges him for the title of our worst midfielder of the past decade. The guy is 29 years old and other than two disastrous years with us he's never played in anything resembling a half-decent league, he even flopped in Lithuania and Poland FFS.

To quote myself in the other thread:

"Couldn't pass, couldn't tackle, couldn't beat a man, no real engine, missed a lot of chances even if he did get into good positions. Most of the time the guy looked like he thought he was playing barefoot on Copacabana beach."

Haven't been this stunned by a transfer since Alan Pardew unveiled Tevez and Mascherano in West Ham shirts on deadline day.

Absolute garbage player, complete fraud of a footballer. I'm amazed that not only have Barca signed him, but for that amount of cash at his age?? It's incredible. Genuinely don't think he'd get in my Sunday league first 11.

Barca fans must be sick to know that they've gone from someone like Xavi to Paulinho in the space of a few years. Just wow.

At least if we face Barca in the CL we'll know their weak spot.

In fairness, I always thought he could have been a good player for us if he could be bothered. I don't think he liked being in England at all.

I always thought there was a decent player buried deep within, the hustle and bustle coupled with the pace of the PL proved too much for him. Still, Barcelona!? Crazy considering they could have thier pick of any player in world football.

He was average. Not a fraud though; some times you guys go way over the top.

He was no Dozzell though

Some hilarious comments above. Even those written today. He's signed for Barcelona not fucking Brighton and Hove Albion. Clearly one of the top teams in the World recognise something,

Good luck son.

PS yes he was crap for us, but he wasn't before and he obviously isn't now. Chow fan must suit him more than fish and chips.

He actually wasn't that bad, scored a few goals for us just didn't really have anything to make him stand out

He wasn't what we expected

Didn't suit us then and would suit us even less so now.

Bizarre first major signing for Barca's new president. Maybe he doesn't like the job. What a cracking move after selling Neymar.

All the best to him though...

Really? First I've heard of a Paulinho sell-on clause?

I don't believe even Levy could be shrewd enough to have a sell on clause in this case, I think he had probably just thought he had won the lottery, when we sold him.
