Aboslutley s**t.....Fair enough he has set up a few for VDV but he is very poor in the air had some good chances today in the air and on wed and he blew all of them....his hold up play is shocking how many times did jagielka nick the ball away?? and his shooting is horrendous my nan could kick a ball harder than he can........we should flog him to liverpool while he still has a small amount of value and get a proper target man i.e drogba-esque who can take use to the next level and is guaranteed to score!!! He is not good enough for a top team sell him and keane and get dzeko or someone of a similar mould who will not be bullied so easily and can actually score

I would gladly sacrifice 10 good knockdowns a season in exchange for a footballer.

I don't rate him. You can't rely on him.

He can't hold the ball up. He hasn't got a forward pass. He's too weak and his lack of mobility is horrendous. Can't shoot for shit. Couldn't buy a goal. We play like Neanderthals with him in the side. Usually.

:clap::clap: Spoken like a true spurs fan well done mate I wish other spurs fans shared your views. Tbh I have been saying this since the day he arrived at the club we have squad full of good footballers and all we do is play hoof ball to Crouch its a joke and players like Modric and VDV won't put up with it for much longer!

I fucking love Crouchie. People give him a hard time yet he always puts a shift in. He needs a couple goals though, I just think referees don't know how to treat him.

Today he got constantly sandwiched by Everton players so he couldn't jump, yet he always gets the foul given against him, like being tall is a crime. Being tall should be an advantage when challenging for balls yet apparently it's a hindrance.

We can all see what a complete waste of time Crouch is, but the man who continually picks him appears not to, so unfortunately until either Defoe comes back or we are lucky enough to find a decent striker in Janaury, then we are stuck with watching him.
Unfortunately Pavluychenko and Keane are not a massive improvement on Crouch, other than they can place one foot in front of the other without toppling over.

truly awful striker (although you cant really call him a striker because strikers can score goals)

harrys love for this guy is blind and is costing us points every week
he is too soft , has no pace , cant shoot and plays with no passion
for all the good players we have in midfield it must be frustrating trying to create chances for this beanpole statue
defoe cant come back quick enough!

I don't think many of you were saying that when he scored that goal against City that got us into the CL!! I'm not Crouch fan but he's not as bad as some make him out to be. He seems to have helped VDV get a few goals too

I think Defoe is looking better and better with every passing game...

Crouch has always been a novelty striker who for a footballing side should be plan B (at best and plan C IMO)

I would rather give Pav/Keane a run of games, but i think the fact that Crouch "made" a couple of goals for VDV makes Harry think he can get away with playing Crouch until Defoe returns, but VDV seemed to get frustrated with him today (as did a lot of the crowd)

PS on the quote above about Crouch's touch, if you notice it is always followed by the phrase "For a big man" or "For someone of his size"

which reading between the lines means 'good feet for a clown freak, shit touch/feet for a normal person'

I wonder if anyone has ever tolod him to, or indeed whether he has ever tried off his own back, to get in the gym and bulk up a bit. Perhaps he has and his body just doesn't respond to it, but if he were more muscular he would be a lot tougher for defenders to play against, would have more powerful shooting, might at least look to have more control over his body and would look less like bambi on ice.

I don't normally say this but I don't think w played well at all today and i think that was mainly down to Crouch or players simply lumping the ball up to him.

I definitely don't think we should sell him as he would be a great alternative option. Every time he is acing the goal with a ball at his feet he can't seem to shoot and for a striker that is a problem. He is great at holding up the play and playing the ball back as i good with headed flick-ons but we now need someone with those attributes who can strike a football. I am never confidant of a goal when crouch is a bout to shoot

I find the knocks frustratinbg but it's not his fault. It's either Harry's or the other players.

It was very poor today though. Twice he was through on goal and once he was muscled off the ball from behind and the other he rolled it to the keeper. Pay would have buried both but he never got the chance. Noone would give him the ball.

Still, everyone can have an off-game. Let's not blow things out of proportion. I should imagine he'll be better next time.

:bang: @ this thread.

Pathetic slating of a player who works his socks off every game without fail, and contributes more in link up play and defensive duties than any other striker we have. He's never going to be Garincha, but he deserves our support, not scapegoating.

Crouch is a support striker. He's never going to do well on his own up front. Put him alongside an aggressive out-and-out striker and he fulfils his role admirably.

I bet VDV hates him setting up all his goals for him.........:stupid:

That not enough. He won't do that in every game, and the rest of his play doesn't justify waiting around for the odd knockdown. If thats the only way we can score in the league, we should give up now. We should be battering inferior teams at home, today we barely carved out a chance. The goal was a gift. His contribution was not worth a w4nk.

this Bull Shit about Crouch "putting in a shift" or "Working his socks off" that's the only "positive" thing i ever see the Crouch lovers say.

*%&^$(£*@ that shit fucking play well, I'd rather have some lazy fucker who can actually move, and shoot.

still i suppose an eventual closing down of a defender is still closing down.

LOL one poor defender even suffered the ignominy of being dispossessed by Crouch today :) but normal service was resumed as he then gave it away.
