Personally would argue for Lloris and Jan/Toby ahead of De Gea and Cahill.

does make me laugh how they go with luiz in there as part of a 442. imo he only looks good because of the 352 system.

I know it will come across as a bias view from all of us, but the fact that we have conceded 22 to Chelsea's 27 suggests that Toby and Jan are superior to Cahill and Luiz. The only thing swinging it their way maybe is that (as far as I know) they have both pretty much played every game this year, whereas Toby and Jan have had spells out. On the other hand Kane has had time out and made the team so I don't know!

It's not really about a formation though, players vote for best keeper, right back, left back, two centre backs, etc. They aren't picking an actual team to win or work.

Cahill is a real surprise. Luiz makes sense, but should be Jan alongside him.

It's the early vote again. If this was done now Toby/Jan would be in, maybe Hugo too. If it was done at the end of the season it would be different again.

Only reason for Luiz, Cahill, Mane and De Gea over Jan, Toby, Eriksen and Lloris is to "please" the big clubs imo. I'd never swap any of our 4 boys for any on the team of the year, and i'm sure stats suggest our lot been performing better to

Or that the vote was done around Jan/Feb.

Chelsea's back 3 haven't kept a clean sheet in 10 games and their system collapsed when just one player was missing at the weekend. But, @Dougal said, this vote was cast earlier in the season.

Unlucky for our CBs who would get in now but lucky for Rose who has missed 3 months and still gets in.

I think there's certainly an argument for Lloris over De Gea

Also Jan and Toby over Luiz and Cahill.

I'd also say Wanyama has had a better season than Kante.

Eriksen and Son have surely had more influence than Hazard and Mane.

And as for Lukaku? Well he's just a poor man's Vincent Janssen.

Surely they've got to move to online balloting and do the vote in April?

I know players are only semi-literate but most of them can work a tablet well enough to send dick-pics on Snapchat, so they tick a box for a player vote.

De Gea? How? Pickford has been better than him. Lloris with the best defence and clean sheets, how does De Gea get picked ahead of him?

Good representation. Like most, the stand out odd choice is Gary Cahill. Glad Zlatan didnt get in the team.

To be fair I think De Gea has done very well behind a very creaky United defence whereas Hugo has been protected for most of the season.

With non-Spurs tinted glasses on I'd say it's a fairly good selection.

I'd probably go with Toby instead of Cahill, but then because of Rose's injury, I'd also go with Alonso at left back.
