Seems as good a place as any - is it just me or are Ref's having some absolute stinkers recently? Not just against us, I mean generally - seems a match day doesn't go by without some calamity decision, and they rarely come alone.

Too much pressure on refs? They feeling devalued after VAR started getting so much attention? We paying more attention to them because the football got a bit dull?

No statto but I'd be interested to see how many "wrong" decisions have been made this season compared to previous.

There's definitely more focus on refs these days. Half the chat time on MOTD and every other football program seems to be taken up with looking at the refs decisions - and not just the big decisions, it seems they have to look at every detail they get wrong. I'm not sure if the standard of referees is getting worse, but the mistakes are definitely highlighted more.

I think there is too much focus on refs and too much blame is on refs.

Unless it is a really obvious penalty thats not been given etc i am not going to get all picky over how many fouls one team got compared to the other etc. It is all meh! to me.

Sendings off for example are a punishment to the player committing the foul, it is not technically produced to help the other team to win. Yet all i hear is that or this should have been a red as if they needed the red card to win the game... so when you dont win... you blame it on the red or lack of red.. meh!!!

in the real world, it's a very good salary.

That's where I disagree. 70k when you're at the absolute top of your profession is not a good salary. There's not many professions where the absolute best of the best don't make at least 200k.
