Really want to vote for Eriksen but have to give it to Vertonghen

I think this is his best season for us and after a very suspect attitude a few years back has really knuckled down into becoming a top player

Has always been a Rolls Royce type player but you could always question him in certain areas. This season his all round game has been outstanding

Can someone post the link to the official vote? Can't seem to find it.

I've voted for Jan as he's been that good in defence we haven't missed Toby.

I never understand why people say this... based on what?

We’ve conceded more goals than last season, have less clean sheets than at this point last year, made more individual defensive errors, won less defensive aerial battles, lost more games and overall looked a little more suspect defensively.

Now this is by no means solely down to Toby not being there, but neither is there anything to point to us not missing him. As good as Sanchez has been, I believe we have missed Toby (as a 2 with Jan or part of a 3). I think his experience against Juventus and Utd in the semi would have made a difference.

Have we coped? Yes, but that doesn’t mean we’ve not missed him, he’s one of the best CB in the league, anyone would miss him.

to me, Walker's been a bigger miss than Toby. How many pts have we drop because of poor right back plays?

Vertonghen is already a legend of the club IMO. Been with us for 6 years, a long tine in the modern context. Ever-present in the side and masterful performances especially in the last 2 seasons. 20 years from now if there were to be a "spurs best ever PL team" his name would surely be remembered and considered seriously.

In the poll at the top, i originally voted for Son. In my POTY vote via email, i voted for Vertonghen. Thinking about it now, it's a shame Son's form has dropped in the latter half of the season. From August to February he was immense, whereas recently he's had a lot of mediocre performances

Amazed it isn’t eriksen. Have shown we could cope without kane. If Alderweireld replaces vertonghen tomorrow would there really be a big drop off ? Eriksen is the one player we can’t do without. For me that means he is our most important player.

For me that isn’t the basis for player of the season.

Player of the season is based on quality and consistency of performance.

Who is backup to the player really has no relevance .

If I had to choose our Player of The Year, it would have to be Super Jan. He has held our defence together all season long, and has been giving a master class to young Sanchez in the process.

A close call between Chris Eriksen and Super Jan, but for me, Jan just nips it for his overall consistency but there's barely as much as a fag paper between them.

They've managed to keep it secret this season. Usually we've known ahead of the last game, and the other awards (supporter clubs' poty etc.) have been given.

It's gonna be announced as a double award as soon as Sissoko pens his new contract.

Without Kane we'd be screwed.

30 goals and people vote Vertonghen wow.

Talk about taken a player for granted that goes for Alli and Sanchez too.

As double0 says we do take Kane a little for granted.

He's scored 30 league goals for us and becomes the first Spurs player to do so in Premier League (let alone fact he's been golden boot winner previous two seasons and exceeded 20 league goals mark for FOUR seasons in a row).

This in spite of his ankle injury and the media / Liverpool players trying to mess with him psychologically.

But on other hand Vertonghen and Eriksen have been pretty epic too, so think maybe should just split the award into three pieces and give them a part each to be fair. :p

We scored goals without Kane.

Vertonghen sits out 1 match, and we let in 4 against Leicester...

Same could be applied to Sanchez but please correct me if wrong when he came on did we conceed?

Kane scored the winning goal again. Note there's nothing to be ashamed about it imo we have a world class goal scorer.
