I love a signing like this. We are not Chelscum or Man City and we need to be financially sensible. Looks like MS was just too expensive and as we will not throw money around that we don't have we revert to a player with similar attributes that we can develop.
If Swansea signed him for £5mill and he was a success we may be trying to buy him for £15mill next summer and everyone on here asking why we didn't find him this year.

You can see why we aren't going for Schneiderlin at about £27m when we can get Dier 4m, Fazio 8m, Vorm+Davies 10m, Stambouli 5m for a total of £27m...

You may be thinking of the wrong team. Stambouli is at Montpellier and Bielsa is coaching Marseille.

Marseille were reportedly interested though, so is that what you are referring to? I'm not sure coaches are so free with one another about their scouting evaluations.
QPR were reportedly after Dawson but Bruce rang Harry for an appraisal.

I'm looking forward to seeing the lad play (assuming we get the deal done) but I do hope Poch had a saying in some way in bringing him in, whether he knew a bit about him before. Last thing I want is for our new boss to be given players he's never heard of as a plan b for his number one transfer target.

Reports coming out that he has chosen to join us on a 5 year deal, just the medical to do now and then the Stoofy stamp.

Sandro is a joker too. And BAE.
Yeah and that went well for benny.

I think sandro chooses his moments. The problem with holtby was said to be him larking about too much and being disruptive when work was trying to be done.

Can't remember which itk said it though.

Well, here's a Marsellies fan in OM forum trying to convince Stambouli to not to go to Swansea & sign for them instead...

http://www.omforum.com/benjamin-message-to-you/#sthash.Dwi6CuMi.dpuf

Benjamin, we have so much in common that I would like to challenge you. We are both born in Marseille and as your father, I grew up in Rodez! So you see, it's like family. And besides, I feel a bit like your big brother and therefore the responsibility to advise you, because you are at a crossroads in your career bro.

Here are 5 reasons why you absolutely undeniable should choose OM rather than Swansea.

1 The Premier League, decoy for technical players
You are a very technical and tactically clever player, but we lie not, it is too close to that, you're not a brute in terms of physics. I am obviously not talking about quantum but rather barbaque. Us, it would give pearls before swine , no one will see your skill and everyone, commentators spectators, will promote the first Taylor or Williams that will come a big tackle from behind. In addition, I invite you to read the statements of Suarez, Aguero or the other, you'll morfler and arbitration will not help you. Beware of injury!

2 Swansea FC is no longer what it was
On one side, you have the opportunity to experience one of the best coaches in the world, recognized for advancing at an astonishing pace his players. And on the other, you have Gary Monk, nag former defender who discovers his first experience as a coach after 20 years mainly in the English second division. Are you really going to bury you there in 24 years? Somebody said that Michael Laudrup was fired? Little brother, I know you have in you the ability to play at a big club and even for France.

3 Team France, precisely
At two years of the Euro in France, in a hostile and unstable environment, it is absolutely unlikely that you succeed in imposing you fast enough and hard enough to find yourself in the France team. Sylvain Distin looks! An average Premier League club never gives access to EDF, unless you are already part of the group France. While at OM? You make three good games and now a selected you . Remember in high school, you had to be part of the band Kevin to be popular, even if Kevin was between us I can tell you now because there are prescription beast to eat hay.

4 Becoming alcoholic Swansea or star in your hometown?
Swansea is still a bit depressing for a son of the Mediterranean as you. You see you spend your evenings booze lukewarm beers watching the rain fall and making belching contest with 5 and Taylor Williams of the workforce? You'll rust there! In addition, the specialty of Swansea, it is an old soup with lamb. Do your calculations, pastis, bouillabaisse and evenings Mistral or boiled lamb, warm beer and gulp contest with big Welsh who are missing teeth?

5 Swansea (ingue with the accent of Marseilles), the swan song?
Last, if needed another to convince you. I went to see a psychic who analyzed all your prospects and is completely certain: you're at a crossroads and you absolutely have to make the right choice. The evidence is reliable, she predicted that I would lose my wallet from my visit, and that's what happened. She says if you sign in Swansea, will tackle a big nag, you're going to spend six months away from the land, and he will not even take a yellow. During your recovery, you're turning to alcohol and end up getting pregnant Anawedd Taylor, 1m73, 96 kg, and that there is 22 teeth. And in 2016, you'll find yourself moved to Leyton Orient.

If you choose OM, you will become captain in 2015 following the departure of Mandanda, and you will hold the Euro 2016 alongside Pogba and Matuidi. In addition, you will become the next face of Kinder Bueno.

That's little brother, if you do not trust me, do it to Mrs. Irmazewicz and make the right choice!

That is absolutely the best fan post I have ever read! Ta, aran!

I'm looking forward to seeing the lad play (assuming we get the deal done) but I do hope Poch had a saying in some way in bringing him in, whether he knew a bit about him before. Last thing I want is for our new boss to be given players he's never heard of as a plan b for his number one transfer target.
If you look at his attributes and the fact that Marseille were after him (Bielsa) I'm pretty sure Poch is well aware of him. He has the exact qualities needed for Poch's style.
Also although some people aren't big fans of DL I can't see him suddenly forcing an unwanted player on the manager instead of Schneiderlin. He's not daft and with all the positivity about the club, the early season results he will want to keep the head coach happy.
Despite what some say Daniel does support new managers as well as he can. He'll not throw stupid money around but he invested in the Arnesen/Santini summer and bought back Keane, Defoe and Kaboul when Harry wanted them and deliverd a last minute present of VdV. Sherwood even said DL wanted to spend money last January but he (Sherwood) declined the offer. We might only have spent what we brought in but I think it's been well spent.
Vorm - much needed back up in Hugo's style
De Yedlin - young, pact right back bought to develop
Davies - young international to provide solid competition for a problem position
Fazio - Hard bastard with strengths we don't currently have in this position and an upgrade on captain Daws
Dier - looking like a bargain already
Stambouli?? - Midfielder in the mould of Schneiderin who Poch developed from an £8mill player to £20mill plus
Poch will totally have been consulted and approved all these purchases

I still think we may have a new wide forward in before the end of deadline day with Andros off

Benjamin Stambouli chooses Tottenham Hotspur! Full story: http://goo.gl/66w8km #THFC #MHSC #OM

They were the ones who broke the story and have been 100% accurate ever since.
My favorite part of that article is that it claims we got him for £4.75m including bonuses. So it seems our initial outlay may be even less than we originally thought.
