I like the look of Stambouli after seeing his clips and reading about him. Key word seem to be 'under valued', and the Montpellier's owner mentioned him as the next/future captain.

He does look like Schneiderlin mk 2, the next in a new generation of players that will be termed 'defensive midfielders' - high energy, destructive and creative, very good technique. I watched a lot of Montpellier in their Championship season, out of curiosity mostly, but never noticed Stambouli (it was Giroud, Cabella and Yanga-Mbiwa getting the credit) but you can see from the clips just how vital he was then, and has been since in a team stripped of most of its winners.

As much as Poch is said to have identified Schneiderlin as 'the one', 27m is crazy when this guy is 5 or so.

He was used as a sub in that season (was very young) But when he came on he often made an impact

Must mean one of the Holtby or Sandro deals is finished as well then.

So is that glass half full or half empty? I'm going half full, he's going to surprise us all and prove to be a great bit of business. Just like when we missed out on Willian and landed Eriksen for a third of the price, we'll miss out on Schneiderlin and land a star in the making for much less money.

The person who took this pic is going to get a lot of shit for posting it on line. I'm sure its pretty obvious from who is in the room too.

What a knob head.
