Another point that us worth mentioning is he started the season injured.

So that could also explain that timidness
Also he’s young, big new club, new players who he’s probably in awe of doesn’t want to mess up, yadda yadda. He’s getting confident in his surroundings boy will get better and better. Terrible the way we do this to players

The kid is getting some swagger into his game. That’s a terrific sign.

I keep reminding myself he joined Spurs at roughly the same age Sonny did. And I’d say he already above the curve compared to where Sonny was at this stage.

Has a potential to get much, much better.

The problem with the current front 3 is their lack of ability in terms of playing with their back to goal, which is why opponents are able to win the ball and counter quickly. Johnson is poor defensively, and none of them press consistently or effectively. If Sonny gets challenged from behind he often goes to ground and hopes to win a free kick. We need a centre forward. In regard to Kulu his best football came when he had Doc supporting him, the pair played well together. Kulu could switch inside onto his left foot, or use his left to spread the ball wide to Doc. At the moment there is no extra width, if Porro gets forward he is often in front of Kulu, consequently the latter comes inside. We are making it easy for teams who play a low block. Once we get a lead, its not so bad, but that is happening infrequently. Our lack of real width is leaving less space for Madders to play in the hole.
I agree he was in his early games, but I see him developing this area of his game every time he plays. He's running back more, taking up better positions, even winning the ball back a couple of times quite high up the pitch. Nowhere near Deki levels yet, but hopeful he'll keep working on it and keep improving.

it really is mind blowing how some fans don’t learn to keep their mouth shut and give players a while to settle and show their best form, rather than trying to win a race to be the first to write them off.

The difference in his body language says it all imo.

He is now getting the ball with a much more positive mindset and several times he carried the ball more and tried to take his man on.

Still a lot more to come from him but he’s now starting to try and use his pace so much more.

Unlucky not to score again too.

Was really pleased to see him dribbling inside at times yesterday, nearly paid off too. If he’s a threat going both ways, he’ll always be a handful for defenders.

Love when he gets the ball now and his first thought is to go and run with it, whereas before it was a safety first approach. He's getting comfortable going on the inside or the outside too which allows Porro to go wide and create more space.

Unlucky not to score, was a brilliant save to be fair to the keeper.
