All in all a pretty decent performance by CCV. I thought he did pretty well against such a talented French side. It was nice to see him do alright after moving to the middle of the back 3 after the Chelsea on Chelsea bloodbath. He was partly to blame for the equalizer but looked much more confident overall than he has in his last two performances for the US.

I thought he looked pretty good tonight. Looked more comfortable than he did against Ireland. I think he is the kind of defender who thrives in a team sitting deep and defending in front of them. He always looks a lot less comfortable, imo, when he has to step high and track runners over the top. Also, if he doesn’t slip I think Hanson doesnt score. He steppes out to close down at the right time but just lost his footing. I think it was Adams actually lost Hanson in the first place. Depending on Brooks health, I think CCV and Miazga are going to have a long future ahead of them as the main cb pair for us going forward.

CCV graded out the highest for the US today according to a couple of websites. Glad to see him maturing and playing well. Still only 20 years old.

Totally agree about the goal, seemed like several players on both teams were slipping all over the field. From a USMNT standpoint, there is a lot of quality depth at CB and CCV and Miazga looked very comfortable together prior to Miazga's injury. Hopefully this performance gives CCV a nice boost heading into the preseason. It would be great for him to play several matches in the PL next season, whether that is with us, or more likely on loan to a club in the bottom half of the table. CCV really does have all the tools needed to be a PL caliber (and USMNT) CB, its just a question of can he put it all together on a consistent basis? Hopefully next season is the season he does.

Took we way too long to figure out who Hanson was.

So are we writing him off after his poor game against Ireland or saying he can now be a future PL player after his good game against France, I can't keep up.

I don't know why people insist in making concrete judgements fom game to game.

Great to hear he performed well against France after his really good season with Ipswich it will be interesting to see how he gets on next year. He'll have bad games but that's how development goes

Totally agree, we can't get too high or too low after a single performance. Personally, I am eager to see how he performs during the preseason. It is so difficult to predict how the young players will perform on a game by game basis. I would love to see CCV and Onomah make it to the first team. However, I think next season could potentially be a pivotal season for both players, whether they spend it with us, or on loan. If it is on loan, hopefully both players can be loaned to another PL club.

Not sure he'd break up the Dunk and Duffy partnership and get much game time.

Read an article earlier suggesting Aston Villa may want to buy him. Could work as a little compensation for us taking Grealish

Interesting. If Villa's tax bill is urgent a swap deal could provide them with a new centre back now Terry has left and us paying their tax bill.

They get a quick but needed fix and we get a cheaper long term deal.
