If we ultimate have to sell Eriksen this summer, we could do far worse than go for Aaron Ramsey for free. Only a year older, full of goals and assists, runs his heart out and knits together play with varied passing. He is also great at driving forward with the ball.

Would never happen but it would piss the gooners off no end.

Ramsey is probably going to become the best-paid British player when he moves. He'll get a massive wage because of the free transfer.

More and more players are running their contracts down; its a new development in the game in terms of how many are doing it. Ramsey isn’t remotely close to Eriksen but would command much more in terms of wages than Eriksen currently does, and he’s nowhere near as good.

I’d say he’s closer to Dele than Eriksen in terms of style but obviously not as good

It does look as though it's going to be thing that ultimately caps transfer fees. We just need FIFA to act to cap agents fees as well.

Good player but hasn’t shown anything to suggest he will reach Eriksen’s level. Of players we could have bought from the Championship ive been more impressed with Brooks, looks a seriously classy player, albeit more Dele than Eriksen in playing style.

came by to mention the same thing - I’ve been really impressed by Brooks when I’ve seen him play. not saying he can be an Eriksen replacement, but could be an option to look at.

I hoping Eriksen will sign a new contract and stay. I we sell a player like that we are not a team who wants to win the PL or CL.
You’d have said the same of Coutinho to Liverpool. Facing the issue of Eriksen running down his contract then an unpopular decision may have to be taken. How we invest that money is as critical as it was for Liverpool.

We won't get half the transfer fee for Eriksen that Liverpool got for Coutinho though.

So... Pulisic to Chelsea for an absurd fee -> Hazard to Real -> Eriksen stays? I know I'm grasping at straws here, but I really want him to stay.

According to the ITK we have had, he has rejected contracts, so more than one.

I'd say, unpopular as it may be, that we're going to have to invest the money we get from his transfer - and it won't be a like for like replacement.

Especially as Eriksen has been playing a bit deeper for us a lot of the time this season.
He's the most obvious Modric replacement, he has developed into a very similar player.

As for the inevitable Hazard move, im sure it will have no impact on their desire for Eriksen. Assuming they have one. They are in a very strong position and I'm sure Eriksen's agent has told them as much. Otherwise he wouldn't be doing his job. RM will know they can essentially wait for his price to drop as he wants to go there. Eriksen can continue to refuse contract renewal offers without fear really. As long as he continues to put all his effort into playing and training he will continue to get picked, at least for this season as we have no one else who can do what he does.

At this point it doesn't really matter what Levy wants, essentially Eriksen hold all the cards, and if Madrid has told him they will take him then there is no rush. Considering the situation we are in as a club, I would be gobsmacked if Eriksen extends. RM are pretty much favourites to win the CL every year, and even if they are going through a blip, they will be back to the top in no time. He has a chance to be their starting creative CM for years to come. At his age I don't really know why he would stay, unless of course RM don't want him.

Pulisic confirmed to Chelsea for 57 million- Hazard could be on his way to Madrid this window
Maybe, but I am not convinced. It's good cover for them as Chelsea's other AM options (Pedro, Willian) are old and injured all the time now and the club actively hate their own youth products (other than RLC now prob because we perked up interested).

Either way, I wish we’d got him. So much potential
