Eriksen is twice the player that Coutinho is. He's an absolute gem that just keeps proving his class. He's £200m now.

We have been genius in the market. Even Walker brought £50m.

We've got billions in talent that not many teams can afford. We are now giving them (most of) the wages they deserve and that means their options for an out are very limited.

Well played that Levy man.

You mean as opposed to just pretending we want to win the premier league to cover Daniel's evil genius plan to take over the world's cheese market ? :sneaky:

Hmmm toughie :cautious:

If you find it difficult to understand what I mean I can be clearer.
All clubs in the PL probably want to win the league. But most clubs will have small chances because they dont have the players to do it.
I would think Levy and MP are realists and understands that if we should be serious contenders for the title we ought to have as many good players as possible. If we then sell our best players, Eriksen, toby, dele etc, our chances of winning will decrease.

Really would like to get this contract signed and announced.

I hope he is not spending his time on holiday franticly hitting F5 on the daily ITK thread waiting for news of an impact signing...

I thought my natural Spurs-related pessimism was at its peak for this summer earlier in the window, when I feared that the club might try to paper-over the PR fallout of a disappointing transfer window with announcements of new deals for Eriksen and Dele at the end of this week.

However, as we rapidly approach the end of the window with nary a decent signing nor a new deal for Eriksen in sight, it turns out I've now upgraded to worrying that we might go for the two-fer of having a disappointing transfer window AND no Eriksen contract announcement before the season kicks off. Probably best if someone has my belt and shoelaces off me at this point.

I'm praying hands that Eriksen has already signed a new contract. To be fair that coupled with Kane and Pochettinos new contracts are better than any viable new players.

If Levy decided Stadium + new mega contracts for our best player were more important than incomings I can't fault him.

This is not an excuse for the miserable TW by the way.

I don't believe that Eriksen or Dele have signed new deals yet, as the ITK info this summer suggested. I can't believe that the club wouldn't have announced them by now if the players had indeed signed, given the massive PR hit we took yesterday, so I just don't think they've signed yet.

If Eriksen hasn't actually put pen to paper before the end of this year, I think we can kiss him goodbye next summer, and that will mark the start of a decline for us as a club. Desperately, desperately need him to extend his contract if we aren't to go backwards in the next few years.

He could be gone by the end of this month.

Right now, after the transfer window I believe anything is possible with Levy. If Barca, or anyone else come in with a big enough offer to test Levy's resolve, the bald fucker might just say "oh go on then". Still think it would have to be a huge offer - £175m +. Realistically, it would be suicide if we did that, but right now I really ain't too sure. I just hope that we get those contracts tied up, and just get on with the bloody season!

If Eriksen says he wants to go Levy will sell him. It won't be a ludicrous fee either IMO.
He's given us 5 years, plodded along causing no trouble at all and, I believe, if he said this is the time for him to move on to an uber club, he'd be allowed to go.

Levy won't let him leave for a relatively lower than market value fee, regardless of his long-term stature with the club.

IF Levy insists on top market value for Eriksen, he hasn't got a leg to stand on when the time comes to buying new players. Pay it.
This theory that he thinks the market is in a bubble that will burst is, IMO, laughable.

With our undoubted ambition shown in the TW why would Eriksen want to go to Real Madrid or Barcalona?

As for Levy selling him, he'd never sanction that. I can hear him now, Christian Eriksen is not for sale at any price

Nothing to see here!:(
