Psg rumoured to be preparing a £100,000,000 bid. That's on the express site so dump truck of salt needed lol.

They also reckon talks are on-going about a contract extension which may be why it hasn't been announced yet.

This surely highlights a major problem with the transfer windows closing at different times. We have decided the squad is strong enough to maintain a title challenge without any incoming players. Should PSG now come in with a ridiculous offer for Eriksen and the guy decides he wants to go we have no possible way to replace him and risk having someone in the team who's heart is set on a move away. Personally I think the guy is very happy here but Levy needs to show him (financially) that he has a major part to play in the future of the club and that any incoming offers will be instantly rebuffed. Sort this new contract out now !

I went and had a look after the BBC website mentioned it (quoting Express). There's fortunately no quotes and no substance. My guess is a paper needs to fill a page or his agent wants leverage for contract negotiations.

"The 26-year-old Dane has still not signed the new contract Tottenham have offered him this summer, with talks ongoing – and that has alerted Europe’s top clubs.

PSG have long been keen on Eriksen, a key player for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, and made known their interest before the World Cup."

...
"Eriksen has two years left on his current deal, but unlike many of the club’s other big names – Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez, Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min – he has yet to put pen to paper on an extension."

I'll take the latter.

This is the problem with the premier league transfer window ending almost a month before the rest. Major clubs swooping in at the last minute and buying players for silly money and leave the clubs in england unable to replace them before january.
I hope the clubs abandon this next season

I have no idea how contract extensions work behind the scene, but wouldn’t we need to announce it for him to get higher wage? Wasn’t it like 2 months ago that itks said that he had signed a new contract? Seems a bit unlikely that we would wait so long with the announcement. Also wouldn’t it be better to announce it now so other european teams don’t bid on him. I hope i’m wrong and that we announce it soon, but i kinda feel like that we are getting closer and closer to him not having signed a new contract...

Lets hope it’s because we wait until the rest of Europes transfer window is closed. But i’m kinda getting nervous.

I think he will go if not this window then probably the next, especially if after a couple of months it looks like another season without a major trophy, PL or CL. Biggest problem is if he goes who follows?

Di Marzio on Twitter tonight: Real contacted us tonight asking the price for Eriksen.

I think it’s quite clear he hasn’t signed any contract, or the likes of Real or PSG wouldn’t even be wasting their time.

Need to get this contract sorted or we are in trouble next summer. He's clearly on the radar of Madrid and PSG at the very least.

I'm sorry but if eriksen is indeed sold, which I don't believe will happen, I would never forgive the club, especially because we didn't bring any quality signings in. Infact, the lack of signings should allow us to pay our best players what they're worth. No excuses now.

Judging by his history he will not leave this season imo. He has troughout his career been a loyal guy and true to his word (extended with AJAX so they could make money on him instead of leaving on a Bosmann @ 19/20 if I remember correctly).

He is loyal to his advisors as well it seems (mainly his dad/not-officially-agent-anymore), who though seem to have very big ideas for him. He started taking Spanish lessons @ 16/17 in AJAX, citing Barca when asked. Being a Dane and compared to M. Laudrup I guess that is to be expected...

Let's hope his missus (and their newborn) love London and those Spanish lessons come in as handy for him, as having fire for a hat has for me.

100m?! He's worth more than Couthinho. No sale either way, he's impossible to replace. Who else is going to get us 25 assists and 15 goals a season?

If he doesn’t sign contract soon then he will be sold come summer. No way, and rightly so, will Levy let him enter into last year of his contract. Only have to look at Arsenal to see what not to do in this situation.

You don’t believe Eriksen will be sold? What, ever?
