He's scored 9 direct free kick goals for Tottenham at the age of 23. In comparison, David Beckham "only" scored 15 during his time at Man Utd.
Is that true? I honestly thought Beckham scored a lot more
[Eriksen] also notched an assist in the match too.
The stats around his work ethic are really interesting.
I think a lot of us assumed he'd be a bit of a luxury player a la VdV, but turns out he really does seem to put in the miles.
Still not exactly a bulwark defensively, but he seems to have upped his game under Poch which is good to see.
Beautiful assist at the weekend as well.
He's an odd cat is our Christian. He's like a super deluxe journeyman. He scores some important goals, makes some important assists but can go missing for whole games and is a master at ineffective running.
For a long time now something has irked me about his game - I think it's that he just appears to be content to go through his career doing just enough to maintain is place, get paid and get by without getting harmed too much (maybe this is what his national team coach meant when he criticised his game, recently).
I don't get the sense of commitment from him like I do from, say, lamela who was featherweight and is now totally up for Armageddon on the field and will play with clear, total commitment for the cause.
I must say, it does bother me; but then he'll take a wordly freekick or play a super smart through-ball and you can't help being seduced, again, by the charm his talent holds.
I thought it might just be a personality thing as he plays his cards close to his chest and is a quiet one and doesn't really do emotion or passion and is just a low key dude. But then Lamela was far more of a wallflower and definitely more sensitive, yet has turned into a proper savage and is willing to put his body on the line, so....
Anyway, he's an important squad member and I love his freekicks and he's scored a good few genius goals and is a very clever player and we absolutely need his creativity in the squad.
Just want him to turn it up a bit like he did for a couple of games last season where he showed that he can bring the rage. Grrrrr.
