Poch is pretty hard on people who aren't committed/ won't commit so I'd say it's probably still looking good for now

No way would Poch drop Christian if he decides to move on. I genuinely think Grealish was being signed in a Sanchez type of way to give him a year of bedding in and to safeguard the club if we need to find an option should Christian leave. Hope I'm wrong but the longer this extension takes, the more likely it looks he'll be looking to leave as he enters his prime

If he refused I bet he would.

Rose, Walker and Toby are far superior to those Poch replaced them with all because they were noncommittal.
Not like he couldn't just use lamela there

Dropping Eriksen would rip our heart out. We were able to survive without Rose, Walker & Toby because we had Davies, Trippier & Davinson to replace them with. I like Lamela but he ain't in the right mould to pull the strings like Christian does. Grealish isn't granted but a year of working alongside the likes of Eriksen would have been huge for hit potential growth

It’s weird we don’t have that new contract announced yet. I’m getting edgy, especially if we don’t hear anything in the next few weeks

He’ll be off next summer but it’d be nice if he could sign a new deal so that we can rinse the shit out of Madrid again.

Eriksen signing and announcement being made this week would be a huge boost for the whole club going into a top 4 scrap against Man U. If he's signed I suspect it would have been announced by now

Right now, a son it stands Hazard & Eriksen have 1 year left on their deals next summer as do Grealish &a Sessegnon.

Aside from Hazard (who I think will go to Real anyway), would you as it stands settle for Eriksen leaving if we are able to secure Sessegnon & Grealish that summer for a relatively knock down fee with 1 year left on their deals?

I know Christian is in a class above but as it stands if someone offered that to you would you take it or not? Damage limitation to the possibility or Christian leaving which as it stands, kind of looks like it could become a reality.

The fact that European giants are sniffing around him right now almost certainly means he hasn't signed a new deal as of yet. Otherwise they wouldn't even bother looking at him for the prices Sir Daniel would demand.

Think we're in for a rough summer next year..

Would you take an Eriksen out, Grealish, Sessegnon in summer right now given the circumstances surrounding Eriksens no go when it comes to not yet signing his new deal? Doesnt look great on paper but might be something that's good for the club long term

neither have signed new contracts. They would of announced on the last day of the window to stop the embarrassment of the no signings. Not so sure of building up. Dele and Eriksen will be off next summer.

Eriksen possibly but Dele has another 4 years to run on his current contract. Why so much doom & gloom?

Because next summer we could well end up losing Toby, Vertonghen, Dembele, and Eriksen

:-S

Toby a peripheral figure for much of last season, Dembele ain't half the player he used to be unfortunately, Jan will be 32 and I think he'll re-sign & Eriksen, well if he leaves that's how it goes.

We still have Lloris, Trippier, Davies, Sanchez, Foyth, Dier, Winks, Lamela, Lucas, Dele, Kane etc tied down for a minimum of 4 years each. Players sometimes move on but we have so much quality yet to reach their peak. We'll be fine like we always have been whenever big players move on. If those players move on, all the more reason to enjoy them for this season then before it potentially happens

Nope.

In the long run sure those two might turn out to be world beaters, but we'd suffer HARD in terms of immediate production., which would in turn most likely cause us to miss out on CL qualification, and most likely lead to the sale of more key players.

If Eriksen goes, we need to invest in a ready made replacement at a similar level to him. I have 0 faith in us to do this.

So you wouldn't be happy with 2 HG players we have been actively looking at should Eriksen leave? That's rather surprising as I can't think of many players who we will realistically get that are at the same level as him? If Real Madrid or Barcelona came in & offered us some serious cash + a player or two perhaps I think I'd feel like the blow had been cushioned somewhat if we are able to get Sessegnon & Grealish in instead. They aren't in the same league as Christian but who really is? If we were to broker some kind of deal we'd we'd also probably come out of it with about £30m+ to further invest. The killer is him having only one year left on his deal it'll really bring his price down

Replacing Eriksen with Sessegnon and Grealish would be a huge risk. Neither proven in a top tier league. The only time selling Eriksen will ever be acceptable is if 1) He wants to go 2) We get an absolute fuck-tonne of money for him & 3) We immediately invest the majority of it in a ready made replacement. No kids/prospects etc, his role in the team is too important.
