The person having a pop at my bad spelling all I can say is f..k you you know-all tosser .
As for the people that rate Eriksen so highly as I do also if you think that anytime you praise or say how wonderful and irreplaceable he is will make any difference to him clearing off for bigger bucks then you are very much deluded.
Players that show loyalty and allegiance in this day and age are in a very tiny minority.
I did not say Eriksen was mercenary but he may prove to be .
Who knows someday we may be in a position to pay the big bucks and hold on to our prized players whether it be by Levy guidance or new owners we can only hope for the best
It is pleasing to note the (revised and) correct spelling of a Tottenham player though.

If Eriksen left because we didn't want to pay him on par with the highest in our club then I'd be seriously lost for words.

If he left to win things then I'd be devastated but wouldn't be so pissed off with the club.

I cannot imagine he would go to PSG.

I think the latter. He'd leave to win trophies.

The people on here are like the nicest people on earth in that they take no umbrace in players wanting to leave and saying that you can't blame them for wanting to leave and better themselves.Well I am from a small school of dipsticks that can't fathom any player wanting to leave which makes me say if you want out then clear off and lets try and get someone who really wants to be here ;stupid I know.
I speak from experience when say I left a job I loved for a company that paid lots more money and plenty of career opportunities.
I regretted it from day one.The grass is not always greener and players who want to add to the£millions the already have leave me cold and as for leaving to win trophies how about showing some character and gumption and try to win something with the club you are with but no way will these type of players do this they would prefer to transfer to clubs likeReal or Barca or City or Psg or Unt;juventus where trophies are almost guaranteed .;and its a lot easier.
So I say roll on the day when we have a team of true characters and backbone
I am just pissing in the wind because its not going to happen.
So lets stop faffing about and let these mega rich six have there own league and let the rest of us lowlife rabble get on with playing on a more level playing field. You will have to excuse me if am not in agreement with players moving for cash or trophies

The games moved on though. I can imagine that many a player wants to look back on their careers and have something to show for it. We love the club, we cant expect players too. All they see is that the club is their employer and some will move on to bigger/better things when the opportunity arrives at a different employer.

There is something quite ironic about suggesting people overrate Eriksen and then promoting Lamela as a replacement.

I remember people saying that Carrick and Modric were both overrated too. That worked out well.

I didn't say Eriksen is overrated in general, what I said was that you guys are overrating him quite a bit. Fact is, if Eriksen was every bit as good as fans here are suggesting, he would already be playing for Barcelona, PSG or whatever.

I don't want us to lose him, obviously, but I'm not going to be losing as much sleep over this as I did for Garreth or Luka.

Have you ever seen Lamela (who I assume you are talking about) make a 40 yard pass straight at the feet or head for someone to score. I haven't but I have seen him dribble himself into to trouble on numerous occasions when a quick pass......something Eriksen is very good at......would have been the right option. Lamela is ideal to come off the bench but to replace Eriksen, You're having a laugh.

So, is Eriksen irreplaceable because he's able to pull off amazing plays from time to time?

I love Eriksen but the truth is, until somewhere around half season ago, he was also a very inconsistent player. He used to make a habit of disappearing way too often, and it's not like he has started this season on fire. I just don't think we would miss him as much as some of you guys think, and I'm quite sure players like Lamela or Winks would do a fine work playing in his position.

But If i was never allowed to leave my job then I would be stacking shelves in Toys R Us.

The idea that anyone is a bad character for changing jobs or companies is truly bizarre.

I don't worry about this one bit. I'm a fan of Eriksen, but I've always felt you guys overrate him quite a bit.

He's definitely replaceable... in fact, his replacement is probably playing for us already wearing number 11.
Not a chance that Lamela can replace him. Different types of players. Eriksen controls the tempo, but Lamela only has one speed.

He is still one of my favourite Spurs players. Even though he was a little rude to myself and my friend after the Fulham game. There were are lot of people around his car and I'm sure he was just a little worried about security. Dele Alli on the other hand was the complete anthesis. He spoke to me very briefly and signed my match day programme. I now have Robbie Keane, Glenn Hoddle and Clive Allen autographed programmes. A nice little collection. I think I may have strayed a little. Sorry. ????❤

Considering that you can count the number of number 10's/creative attacking midfielders in the entire world of football that are better than Airecksson on one hand, I find it baffling people would suggest that he's replaceable. He's as good and as important as Kane, so he should be given parity if that's what he wants. We are a significantly worse team when he doesn't play, and there is no one in our budget that we could replace him with.

Lamela only has one speed? Yeah, I'm not sure which Lamela have you been watching, but you need to start paying more attention I feel.

Anyway, this is a pointless debate. All I know is I'm not going to be too surprised if, as the season goes by, Eriksen starts being rotated a bit more than usual.

There is no chance he will go to PSG unless they sell neymar or mbappe to real madrid for big money.

UEFA are looking into there finances. As we know they'll probably get some measly fine but they wont be shelling out 100m for eriksen unless they bring in money.

I'll worry if he hasnt signed a deal by end of the season.

Lamela can take his position, will bring other qualities to the team. Then we can get a playmaker as the replacement for Dembele. We'll remain at similar level, the sad part of course is that we don't progress when we can't keep star players, there's a ceiling until we do.

Lamela can replace him in the lineup but would not replace what makes Eriksen so important to us. Lamela is very effective pressing, playing on the break and picking a pass when he has time. Eriksen can pick the pass, score goals but more importantly can control the tempo of the game, keep the ball under pressure and quickly change the point of attack. I think Lamela will be very important for us this year but, IMO, he is not an Eriksen replacement.

If I use the brain rather than the heart, then I think this is his final season with us. He has positioned him self to follow the plan he said he had in his mid teens, Ajax -> bigger club (us) -> Barcelona. And he's in his right to do so, he has no obligation to us further than his contract.

As far as I know, Eriksen has never been a fan of long contracts, but he has never tried to run a contract out either.

When he left Ajax, he promised to sign for an extra year (2 year contract) if no bids were made for him.

This has nothing to do with money nor has it something to do with Eriksen not enjoying his time at Spurs. He simply wants options in the future, and therefore he isn't to keen on signing one of Levy's usual 5 year contracts.

Fucking love this guy. Last night, 91 mins on the clock, the games wrapped up, Lucas falls over after a challenge, Eriksen sees him sprints towards him, pulls him up, and then immediately sprints back to try and win the ball back. What a geez.
