Madrid have already spent over 100mil from what I read and that’s before Mandy, Hazard, Pogba and Eriksen... so they surely have to sell a few to recoup.... bale and Isco for Eriksen would be fair I’d say?

Who's going to buy him though? Basically about 5 clubs in continental Europe who could even afford him; Bayern, Barca, Real, Juventus and PSG. PSG have a plethora of midfielders, as do Barca and Juve. Real are spending a lot of money elsewhere -
Hazard, Jovic, maybe pogba. It basically leaves Bayern and they're looking at signing Hernandez, Sane, someone else who I can't remember. Where's he gonna go?

will be a huge loss but not surprising.

my big fear this window is the number of players we need to get in. eriksen is one of the most important players in the current side, toby the same. it's important to rebuild around a core of players that knows the philosophy etc. we can't expect new players to come in and hit top level from their first game..

The thing with Madrid though is that even there fringe players will still cost a serious wedge, so that will help them out

Focused Eriksen is irreplaceable but his mind hasn't been here for quite some time, best for both parties for him to leave.

Agreed. We needed another creative midfielder even with Eriksen in the squad. With him leaving we'll now need 2. A lot to do this summer.

Madrid may be a step up in wages but that's about all, we really have narrowed that gap thanks to Poch

Good luck Christian, thanks for the good memories.

Not yet it hasnt, alder could go this summer for 25

I mean being allowed to run his contract down and giving the advantage / initiative to the buying club.

£25 million is pittance for a player of Toby's quality.

Not in any way surprising.

Good luck to him. He's been a fantastic player and I'm sure he'll go on to have a great career at one of the Spanish giants.

He's been one of the best players I've ever seen in a Spurs shirt. It's a shame his last season and a half were a bit hit and miss, but he's always put in a lot of effort and you can't fault him for that.

Good luck Christian - we now just need to get a good fee for him and properly replace him...Lo Celso is surely about as good as we could hope for

Having seen the full quotes, I think it's an honest statement and also very respectful to us. Admits there aren't many better clubs around now but would like to explore the possibility of a new challenge at one of the elite.

One of the best players I've seen at the club, and one of my favourites, but it does feel like it could be right time for both parties to move on.

Does suggest he isn't ruling out signing a new deal at the end however. Therefore confirming all the ITK on him has been pretty much spot on.

We knew he was coming to us as a stepping stone. Thankful for what he’s done for us but if we get a good fee and rebuild I’m happy.

Also, while it comes across as respectful he leaves us on the brink of possibly doing something special.

A new Challenge?

Warmer weather and less of a shift if you ask me, and no, I'm not bothered if that offends people.

It does seem from his quotes that if RM dont come in for him then he will sign a contract providing the terms and conditions are in place - I assume would mean more money and potentially a release clause or something that would allow him to leave if RM come in in the future.

His quotes are respectful and if he leaves it would be ok I guess, will be a huge miss but he has given us good service.
