No chance he won’t get back his form. I think all our lads who played in the WC are behind schedule in match fitness. They will back to 100% soon.

I think Eriksens scoring numbers for Denmark, I think its 14 goals in his last 18 games, shows he's at his best further up the field. He and Dele are just a weird duo to play together when you think of the standard formations in football. Both are best behind Kane. Really think our best lineup will be Son - Eriksen - Lucas behind Kane but Dele still needs to play a lot/most of the games for his development and talent. Tough balance for Poch.

I think he's better if he's played deeper in our team, the position he played for the majority of 16/17 in that 8/6 position got the best out of him, for Denmark he's better playing as a no10.

Agree to disagree, I think if he had a badass passing CM behind him he would shine even further as a pure 10 just being able to create all game.

I think he's that good of a player where he can succeed in both roles though.

Fair but then again if he plays as a no10 then as you said that creates a situation with dele, guess it depends on who you prefer to play but IMO I don't think we can afford to drop Dele considering his contributions to the team.

Can't wait to read the defence of Eriksen again today. I suspect BC will claim "he saw more of the ball than anyone else" and a few will chime in with how much he ran. Great, why don't we sign Mo Farah?

Utterly pathetic how this guy turns up for Denmark game after game yet is so half arsed when it matters for Spurs. He has so much quality and shows it 10 times per season.

Needs dropping but we have absolutely no one to take his place so once again he’ll walk into the team again next week.

I actually thought he was decent this game and much better than last game. Him and Lucas were the only ones who made something happen. Everybody else was allergic to passing forward.

Spurs fans love him and I can see why

But sadly he’s the one player on our team I just can’t seem to love something really annoys me about him just seems to passionless and effortless or snakey.

So many times he just goes missing he’s like ozil in that regard he just really needs to add that aggression to be great to force things to happen

Look at 'fan' ^

I gave up posting regularly on Spurs forums a while back because it's full of people like you who just sit there trying to call people out all day for things they've said in the past. Now I just laugh at how overrated Eriksen is by Spurs fans. He's being lauded as one of our most creative players ever above, the majority think he's Barcelona bound (lol) but aside from a few performances here and there he's pretty average for Spurs. I've said he's a quality player when he wants to be but his attitude will cost him from being at a Barcelona/Madrid.

Eriksen is not the problem. Its the slugs behind him cramping his style.
1000000000% this. Don't think people understand how much better Eriksen would look if he had a little help pulling the strings. He has to do all of it this season.

I think people are just looking for a scape goat.

edit: @Mrs VDV you really don't think Modric and VDV helped each other out and in turn made each other better?

I love him, think he's one of the best players of his ilk in Europe however I think he's been dreadful so far this season. He's been reminding me of the worst games Ozil has. The formations haven't helped him or the personnel but he's a world class footballer, where's his responsibility to grab games like he was doing last season gone.

Today was just a shit show from all but I'm really disappointed in him and there's a massive elephant in the room which is his contract is quickly running out. Probably an overreaction but I'm doubting his commitment to the cause a little bit right now, he's always got a laid back edge to him but right now he's simply coming across lazy and flaky in games.
