@JimmyG2 curious as to why you think some of the bigger players at the club haven't signed a contract extension.

Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino, HM Son, Erik Lamela, Dele Alli, Sanchez, Hugo Lloris have all signed
and a host of lesser established players
Winks CCV, KWP, and so on.

Why haven't others signed?

Some still have 2 or more years on existing contract. Quite a few inc. Dier, Trippier
Some still haggling over details.
Some too busy studying Holiday Brochures and /or Car Catalogues.
Wife doesn't like London.
Some can't live on 10,000 or more a day.
Some going to Real Madrid in protest over no signings.

Your guess is as good as mine,
maybe even better.
I'm just a fan and supporter.
I rarely speak to Poch, DL or any of the players.

Dele has most definitely not signed a contract.

Oh yes has, twice now.
the last in 2116 and runs until 2022.
So don't panic.
Yet.
By that same logic Toby & Eriksen have both signed contracts but regardless. I'm not panicked, but I think its fair to be genuinely concerned about some of the things going on at the club.

Dele's contract is not one of them
thankfully.
Some contracts are due to run out quite soon
I have no idea whether we should be concerned.
A week is a long time in politics
and 3+yrs is a long time in football.

Eriksen should be one of the top earners at Spurs
but money won't keep him
if RM come in.

What 'goings on?'

Dele, Eriksen & Tobys contracts are major concerns. We had ITK early in the summer that they were close now 5 months later, not a word. We were also the only team in Premier league history and the only club in the top 5 leagues to have not signed a single player. We've largely played piss poor football for over 2 months now and are currently sitting with 0 points in our Champions League group. Have some pretty big injury issues right now, which oh yeah sucks cause we didn't buy anyone to strengthen the squad. Finally, we have no idea when we're moving into our new stadium.

I think that about sums it up.

I don't subscribe to the
'we are fucked because we didn't buy anyone'
philosophy
We have been outspent for several years
by several clubs
sometimes to the tune of 100's of millions of pounds.

Our recent record
and current position
shows that another way is possible.
We are building a squad
steadily and slowly
under, for us, a steady management.
with the emphasis on our own and young players.
This is where we need to continue to invest

Every season the doom-mongers
predict that unless we jjoin the big spenders
our development is doomed.
Lloris has been leaving us for several years.
he's still here.
Now it's Eriksen, or Dele or Kane, or Pochettino.

Don't let the Media agenda
divert you from the true path.
What's the tune this is sung to? Could be a great one to get going.

And they managed to get that by beating the champions to Jorginho and persuading Real to give them Kovacic. All on the back of a bad season where they were apparently "a shambles".

In the transfer market it is not only the actual spending that we are failing on but the negotiating with clubs & agents that is essential these days seems lacking to say the least. The likes of Baldini and Commoli may have been seen as flops by many but we at least seemed to be able to get deals done when they were around.

Chelsea got Jorginho because he loves Sarri. They got Kovacic because they were forced to sell Courtios to Real and wanted a sweetener.

I agree with your point, but not with your examples.

He will sign only after him and Daniel have a gentlemen agreement that he can go to Chelsea if they come calling.

I would love to believe he will sign but I just don't see it. Especially if RM really are interested. I love Eriksen as a player, but I always got the feeling he is very career focused. If he doesn't feel we can match his ambition then I would expect him to look for a team that can, especially as he will be entering his prime years soon.

Or heading the ball back towards our goal for the corner Liverpool score from.

I find it interesting that you constantly belittle a guy who works his socks off for the team, and has pretty much been the only creative outlet in our ranks since the departure of Modric. Yet you've opted to name yourself after a player who couldn't play beyond 60 minutes, and literally jumped ship as soon as he was told he wouldn't be a starter.

Andre Villas-Boas wasn’t the ideal coach for me. He bought Gylfi Sigurdsson and then told me he would be his new No.10.

“I found that a little bit strange considering what I’d achieved over the previous two years.

“I started the first match of the season on the subs’ bench so when Hamburg approached me I thought it was a nice opportunity to go back
".....

You're one of those 'style over substance' types, aren't you!

Didn't realise Mrs VDV played for Spurs.

Just because Eriksen runs a lot it doesn't mean he does anything effective with that running. When he starts putting his body on the line like Lamela then maybe he will change my mind that he cares about the cause. He's been called out by the Danish manager in the past for his commitment, his commitment has been questioned on here by many at times, if you're going to start trying to big this guy up then effort isn't the path I'd take.

I mostly just post here because I find it laughable how overrated the guy is. He's a very good player at times but he won't end up at RM or Barca, he's just not at that level consistently.
