It's an irrelevant question because it is under the assumption that Davies is some kind of robot who never gets injured.

It's not that Rose is an important first team player, it's that he's actually playing a valuable backup role at the moment for us.

That's right a valuable backup, so not a 'big gaping hole at LB' as you put it

Much more against losing Rose than Toby at this stage because there's an argument that we've effectively already replaced Toby. If we sold Rose then there'd be a big gaping hole at left back. There have been holes which historically we haven't always taken care of early on in transfer windows. Aurier for example could have easily gone tits up leaving us scrambling on the last day.

If Aurier hadn't happened, KWP would probably have got more game time and be pushing Tripps hard for that RB slot.

Friend of a friend works for man united u23s as a data analyst and my friend sometimes gets info about united and their players.

He said after moving to manchester, Shaw's attitude became horrendous. He would just eat takeaways and play fifa with his mates all the time, showing little commitment.

When he started to play more in the first team and show some form earlier this season it was because he got himself a missus and started to sort himself out.

He has now broken up with said missus and back to playing fifa with his mates, eating takeaways and showing bad attitude again, hence why we're not seeing him in the side.

I was surprised to hear this after the good things poch had to say about him in his book. I guess if you're living with your parents you are less likely to piss about compared to living on your own or with friends.

Oh and rose can go if he wants to.

From memory I didn't think he was that complimentary about Shaw in his book. Shaw has a bit at the end about Poch who told him that he should believe in himself more (maybe thats the problem with Mourinho) but those are Shaw's words.

Poch has also said that he didn’t think Shaw was prepared to put in the hard work to get to the top. Jason Dodd..ex Southampton academy coach was on the radio recently saying that Shaw was a player who you had to keep an eye on as a youth player....he was quite happy to be in the comfort zone and needed to be pushed

i heard the same interview and came to the same conclusion that Shaw was talented but lacked application, which ironically is the type of player that we used to sign but dont any more.

He’s not for us then. Players need to be 100% motivated off their own back to reach the very top nowadays. THFC has moved on from a club where we tolerate players like that and we sure as hell have had enough of those in the past to know it’s not worth the risk getting one in.

Edit: I’ve just seen @onthetwo has said the same thing as me above. It’s been part of the club’s problem up until Poch joined let’s not go back to it.

I hope he just sits out his contract and will be worth nothing to manure when he moves to a lower league.
