This must be one of the most bizarre sales I can remember. We won’t get much of a fee as it’s a loan move to reinvest. We’re already fucked for HG so we decide to let one go. He was one of the best LBs in the world pre injury. And it’s deadline day.. fucking bonkers

his problems? I though he had had some personal problems and eventually wants to move back north. didnt know spurs was part of his problem, and it was ok to move to germany or paris to play football.

hope poch starts looking for a new lb

Paris United saying it looks like Levy is pushing Rose on them, Tuchel prefers Wendell from Leverkusen though. We're really going to try to have KWP be our backup LB...

I mean if he was pissed about player recruitment last summer, imagine what he thought of this summer haha
MP all but named Rose in the Fulham preview.
Along the lines of he will draw a line under all that happened before, but basically he wants them to be happy and will help them move on if not.

Getting info out of MP is like blood from a stone but he strongly implied there was at least one player who could leave this window for this reason.

Funny thing is, Rose is probably as satisfied as any other player. Just when others are asked how they are, they say 'fine boss!', 'great boss!'. Rose, I dare say, takes it as an opportunity to go over a lot of old ground.

Still second choice it seems at moment, although personally would prefer to see him starting.

Does make me concerned we may still be looking to move him on and feel KWP is a viable back up option.

Especially playing wing backs at start today, would think Rose would be more suited to wing back.

Would've been nice to see how he looked today to see if he was up for the game next week. He's clearly the better player over Davies, just needs to get to 100% and nail back down that spot.

Clearly better than Ben 100% , but Poch seems to prefer Ben and wants you to ride or die for the Club, which I cannot blame, so it might be best if Rose moves on which will not be good for us, why can't we loan Kurzawa in return, Kurzawa maybe hurt but we don't use Rose, Ben's never been in the media causing trouble so from my view I guess that equals starting (LB)

Think the window has to be open for that.

It’s acceptable to argue that Rose is better than Davies, but to say he is unequivocallly better and that it’s clear is ridiculous,

Ben Davies is 3 years younger then Rose, far less injury prone, never looks like he’s gassing on the pitch after a sprint and causes no controversy. He also has far better output, in fact finishing last season as the top assisting fullback in England with 6. He also scored twice. Rose has never hit these figures despite being perceived as more attacking.

For all Roses pace, he is caught out of position far more defensively and going forward he contributes far less. People mistake energy/ dynamism for tangible impact too easily. Plus, in terms of pure technique and passing ability Davies pisses it.

I like both, I’d suggest the difference is very little.

Rose is faster. You can't underestimate the importance put on speed as far as a lot of Spurs supporters are concerned especially regarding full backs. Fwiw I don't think there's a lot between them tbh.

I even think that I might in fact regard Davies as better. Davies has a far better understanding of the correct positioning on the pitch for his role. Rose will never seize to believe he is a midfielder and should play as a midfielder. Davies understands that he is a LB/LWB.

I'm not sure there is a best between the two. Each has strengths and each has weaknesses. Davies is good enough going forward and defending against similar speed opponents. He struggles in tight spaces on attack as well as against skillful, mobile opponents. Rose has speed to make up for his mistakes or others in the back (and he has covered up for other's issues in the past) but he makes more positional mistakes. Going forward he is more dangerous but inclined to run into tight corners. Since neither has it all, at least having both gives Poch flexibility in tactics.
