Back to his absolute marauding best today. What I love about Rose when he plays like that is that he has a really healthy arrogance to his game, particularly with his tackling and the physical side to his game. It's not a bad thing either because when he is like that, he's at his best, whereas when he's struggling he looks uncertain, even timid at times.

Arrogant Rose = Best Rose

I've always been a fan of Danny and I was hoping him capable of taking the starting berth off Davies. He's just a far better LB/LWB.

Having said all that he's not without his own deficiences. Even when him and Walker were flying down the flanks he was guilty of not supplying enough quality into the box. I'm not sure whether that quality will ever come.

LB/LWB is not going to be a pressing issues imo, however we would be foolish to disregard it if another quality option presented itself. Im sure the fact Davies is such a well liked player and is flexible enough to play LCB effects that decision making.

Will be interesting who the 'powers that be' deem the long term player to be.

I think you need to bring in a new one because Rose is always injured and we need a better player than Davies who starts 75% of the games.

I thought he was poor going forward on Saturday. But he’s been off for a long time and had two games in a week so probably deserves cutting some slack.

I would love to see us sign Chilwell, but he's probably looking at a £50-odd million move to one of our rivals fairly soon. City have been linked, and I don't think Pep is fully sold on Mendy.

I totally agree. But like I said, even in his 'pomp' he was guilty of poor crossing and/or poor decision making in the final 3rd.

Still a very good player who is hard to improve on.

Davies is much better at crossing the ball but can't match a fit Rose for pace.

People on here laughed at this idea two years ago. Unfortunately, now he would be too expensive.
