I say the same thing every time, if players had any loyalty we wouldn't be able to sign anyone. If Rose was, loyal he wouldn't be at Spurs. Why expect anything else? Man U tap him up and of course he wants to leave, he will be paid more and probably win more. it's up to Levy to give him the money to make him happy or sell for an enourmously large fee.

He insinuated the players who aren't in the first 11 aren't good enough.

We are meant to be an inclusive team where everyone works for each other and respects the contribution that each player makes. A lot of the pre-season work is about bonding the players as much as fitness and tactics. Danny Rose has just publicly driven a wedge between the players.

If he wasn't injured I'd say that he'd played his last game for us.

But most of the players (at least half a team) outside the first 11 aren't good enough. I think most of us agree with that. I can't see what's wrong in saying it. It's not like he's naming names.

It doesn't matter if he's right. As I said above he's just undone a lot of the team bonding work that was done in Pre-season. Does he need to name names? Do you think the players won't know who he's talking about? He also said that the club couldn't cope without Kane, a center back and Dele against one of the big teams, so he's clearly talking about Janssen, Wimmer and a few others. How do you think those players are going to feel when they go into training today?

And it's not just Tottenham fans that think it's a stupid thing to say. Gary Neville for one has said it's totally unprofessional and it's his team that will probably sign Rose.

He doesn't need to, everyone knows who's he's talking about, it's been publicised enough by the media for people to not know who he's talking about, we know they aren't good enough but when a team mate says it it's firstly putting your team mates down in public and secondly goes against everything we've stood for under this Poch regime and that's unity and team spirit. There's nothing wrong with us saying it as we're fans, if he says it it's at a detriment to the club and the staff as he's a paid employee.

What he's doing is trying to force a move. He knows Mourinho is interested and we won't sell. I hope Levy makes him honour his contract as back up to Davies (and then Sessegnon)!

It seems like really bizarre timing on his part. He's currently injured so a move is unlikely until he's fully fit, and even when he does return because of the form of Davies there's no guarantee he'd even get back in to the side straight away so I'd imagine to engineer a move he'd have to prove his worth all over again. Not to mention the fact that he still has 4 years on his current contract.

I think we hold all of the cards on this one.

I think he'll go, it just remains to be seen when. Poch has previously said he won't keep players that want to leave. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes to United for money plus Luke Shaw.

Because it is a team and the people in the squad are the ones who will have your back when you are getting roasted by pundits on TV or supporters or your wife. The team becomes your support system on the pitch and off.

How many times has Rose fucked up on the pitch and had a teammate encourage him? How many times has a teammate supported Rose in the press after a howler?

Did Bale criticise the squad in the press when he wanted to leave? No.

Did Modric criticise the squad in the press when he wanted to leave? No.

Did Adebayor criticise the squad in the press when he wanted to leave? No.

It doesn't matter if what Rose said is true. It doesn't matter if it is the same thing that people on SC/COYS/the Fighting Cock have been saying. It doesn't matter if you didn't name names. You don't slate your teammates in the press.

Never liked his attitude or rated him. Improved under Poch but as Poch has said himself, the system we use flatters fullbacks.
Sell asap.

Bye bye Danny Rose. Won't be half the player without Pochetttino but I'd still charge Manchester United£50m plus Luke Shaw.

Ok, we're all upset but Danny Rose's attitude up this point has been exceptional, he worked his arse off at a time when spurs fan wrote him off to become the best left back in the league and one of the best in world football. What's he's said is out of order and he shouldn't be near the first team with the situation that he's manufactured but let's not re-write history he and Walker are probably the two best full backs we've had in modern times.

I'd rather keep Rose, even if he has been a bit of a proverbial. In a few weeks it will have all blown over and we will be getting on with it, having one of the leagues best left backs at the club. We can't afford to sign anyone as good and we would be directly improving one of our biggest competitors if we let him go. Don't force him out guy's we will all regret it!

I have no problem with what he said. I think he was genuine. I like his honesty as opposed to the pretence.

His pitch essentially is ' i have 1 shot left so i want as much money as i can get, and also medals too. As a side point I want to play closer to home at some point'.
It makes sense.

i dont necessarily have a problem with his words......my issue is say them to Poch/Levy in their office, to their face. Saying it in a national newspaper 3 days before the start of the season is basically one huge FU to the club, the manager and his teammates.

He knows this is a damaging distraction, but did it anyway.

If Bale came returned as a left back, Rose is told he's not number one anymore. Will he be pleased that we signed a worldy in his position... No? Thought not.

Completely agreed with you and those who have said essentially the same thing.

I thought Modric said he wanted to leave Spurs to go to chelsea because they are a big club, basically as I remember it what he said was just about the worst thing any Spurs player has ever said about us when trying to force a move but if you choose to forget all that fair enough.
I'm not even sure Danny Rose is trying to get a transfer this summer, what he said could just as easily be read as a warning to the club that they can't go on as they are.
