Why Rose isn't on Spurs' 2018 calendar...
Tottenham v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

Pochettino addresses the big question on the minds of Spurs fans... if Danny Rose is not leaving then why isn't he on the club's official 2018 calendar?

The Spurs boss reckons even Rose wanted to know why he wasn't on it...

"He came to see me and said 'Gaffer, why aren't I on the calendar?' I said you were in Central Park. It's not a big issue," says the Argentine.

There you go then.

From BBC live feed. I'm presuming it's a wind up. :ROFLMAO:

Does anybody know if Danny's new look physique is the result of an intensive weight training regimen and whey protein shakes or long hours of daytime TV and Deliveroo on speed dial?

We need him back. Simple as that. As great as Davies has been, Rose is just as good and better. We need him back and anybody who says otherwise is lying to themselves.

Wrong time and place for his comments. I'm over it. I'm still absolutely mortified at Spurs PR, though. How did you miss that opportunity when we signed Sanchez?!? It was staring you directly in the face! Come on! You cant miss these opportunities!

Potentially not a wind up. I know that Roses rehab took place in New York City. I also know that in the summer when the squad were in nearby New Jersey he made no effort to link up with or meet them, manager included.

The Sun put TWO of their staff on this story. And the real answer is he was away at the time.

Whilst I agree we need him back in terms of having two quality LBs available, you cannot argue with the string of results since he's been out.
It must be something like 20+ games, with the only 2 defeats I can think of being Chelsea and West Ham.
With Davies starting we certainly haven't missed him individually, and I believe he is in a position where he needs to win his place back rather than going straight back in.

Interesting reading regarding 'definite sale in January/Summer' from numerous posters and 'he'll play smaller games'.

Anybody have anything other than a personal opinion to back this up with?

Thought not.

Theres enough bollocks in the media regarding us selling players, I don't think we need to start making shit up ourselves.
If we sell we sell but we're stronger with him and other clubs are weaker without him so lets at least HOPE he stays eh?

Look man, you're clearly in love with Rose or something. I get you, I went through the same with AVB and, more recently and way way waaaaaay more intensely, with Tony Romo (former QB of the Cowboys), so I'm going to give you a small piece of advice: try not stressing yourself about any of this. I know that deep in your heart, at the very core of your soul, you are absolutely sure that Rose makes us a better team and that we should be doing whatever we can to keep him with us but, in the end, you need to remember that these sort of things are not our decisions and are totally out of our control. So just let it go man, there's nothing you can do in this situation and, sadly, all your hope and all your dreams will mean shit in the end. :/

Words of a man whose heart has been broken way too many times by sports and women alike (well, it was just one woman, but it hurt just as much as all the sports stuff combined).

Would like to see us back in for Sessegnon but also isn’t Bennett doing well in our youth team having being a left winger converted to left back?

Might want to give him some game time in league cup matches?

I must admit I love Ben Davies and would feel that if we could get £50m for Danny Rose and pick up Sessegnon for half that we would be doing very smart business.

That said Rose is an excellent LB and if Poch wants to keep him and Rose wants to stay then I look forward to watching him and Davies fight for the position.

Basically its win/win in my book regardless of what happens.

Hardly, we've gone through our best form in years without him for a start and I'd be shocked if Danny just waltzed back into the team at a higher level than Davies after what will be at least 10 months out with a knee injury

So only 12 players are part of our long-term future?

Alright smart-arse...

:)

Joking aside, an England international, been with us for God knows how long and an shoe-in in the starting line up until injury...

Let's not kid ourselves - He should be in the calendar.

Not after not playing since January, and with the current PR situation around him. It isn’t confirmation we’re going to sell. It’s a natural reaction to recent events. It would be weird if he was on the calendar after what’s happened.

Davies has done so well we've hardly missed him.
It's great to have him back but the worse feeling would be seeing him play for someone else.
