I
The club accounts that are released every year(that are available for all to see) explain fully where the money goes. It baffles me why people choose to ignore it.

Add to that our rivals have far greater incomings than ourselves. It really isn't that difficult to understand. The more money you make the more you can spend.

I had a look at the accounts awhile back and from what I remember there was a decent net cash pile and a healthy positive cash flow that was building up. Kind of my point

Well Imo your point is wrong and misinformed. Can't be bothered to keep arguing about it and this is not the thread for It anyway. Rose will be gone by the start of next season whatever our financial situation, and I will leave it at that

Errm you said to refer to the accounts. Maybe worth you looking at them. There is a £50m net cash balance on them and the last accounts are for the 2015/16 season before the new TV deal kicked in which combined with a second place finish plus being in the CL and no net spend as usual would suggest things will be looking even stronger

Was poor today. Looked as bad in the final third as he always has though to be honest. It's always been the weak part to his game.

If we are selling Rose in Jan or next summer, wonder why Poch doesn’t give more minutes to KWP, seeing that he’s on the fringes of the first team and has been on the bench on several occasions already this season.

Probably because he's not a LB.

Agreed. Terrible performance last night. Needs a hard kick in the arse.

Unfortunately all he's going to get is a move to the club he wants to go to. I was against moving him on in January but if we can get a decent fee for him and get a replacement in then we should. Maybe we should have done it after that interview in August as it doesn't seem that Poch has been able to turn him round.

Ian Wright said on the radio on Monday that Rose maybe becoming devisive in the dressing room. He'd probably know more than us and if that is the case then Poch won't be keeping him around much longer than he needs to.

Fwiw wright is friendly with Danny Rose through one of his kids. Not saying he knows anything that's going on at the moment, but he does have a connect with him.

But he has played LB before.

Didn’t he win the junior WC playing as a LB.

Not sure what that matters tbh. Rose is still here and ATM we have two fit LB's why would he be played out of position when Davies and Rose are available for selection?

I don't think he was awful last night. His crossing was wasteful, but he was still one of our better outlets, and he defended well and Mahrez got no change out of him. The one time he was stranded up pitch and Mahrez didn't have a Rose-shaped barrier in front of him, well.....

Whether he's off or not, and tbh like Walker when he's been here 8-10 years I don't think it's unreasonable to want a new challenge at some point, I don't see this 'lack of effort' that I've seen a lot of our fans spouting overnight (some here, most elsewhere). I think he's the easy target to stick the boot into.

Big egos have ruined our season.

Poch’s book, Alli’s brand, Dier’s big head. But Danny Rose really killed the atmosphere. Get rid, good player but he’s poison.

Domestic rivals or not, it didn't stop Chelsea selling Matic to them and they have bucket loads of cash just sat around. The facts are he wants to leave and has been making that very well known. The big foreign clubs aren't interested(as yet). We can't afford to have a £60mil asset just sulking away and not towing the line. People keep saying "we can't keep selling our best players and expect to compete", but that is exactly how we have been able to compete in the first place. By selling our best players and then reinvesting to improve the squad as a whole.

Maybe when the new ground is complete and producing the extra income required things will change, but until then this is exactly the model that has brought us to where we are now.
i dont have an issue with selling Rose or indeed selling Walker if it makes the team better, but in the last 2 seasons we have made 9 signings for close to 150m apart from Wanyama and Sanchez the rest have made no difference to the team at all, in fact they have cost us points as when they have played they have been crap
so my issue is i would rather keep our players as we have no evidence we replace them with better

Our player recruitment has been deeply underwhelming post getting into the CL as it’s coincided with other clubs spending the TV windfall and raising the bar and we’ve been hamstrung by Levy unwilling to pay the wages as it would mean a raise for the whole squad. Hence we sign Sissoko for £30m on £90k a week and not Mane for £130k or whatever for the same amount. We don’t sign Zaha as we deem him not worthy of a pay rise on what he’s on at Palace etc.

Sissoko for £90k is so so so much worse than Onomah, Mason, and Pritchard for that much combined.
