Would make a degree of sense given the personal appearance of the conversation but who knows.

From a playing perspective, BD is fit, he's been consistently good and is the safer bet in this game as it stands.

Until Rose gets that sharpness back in his game and his fitness up, i don't see an issue with the selection IF that is the reason for the chat. Equally i'm happy he's desperate to play and wants to have these kinds of conversations with Poch.

Davies definitely deserves to start ahead of Rose tomorrow. Plus this is Rose we're talking about here, someone who would go to the press a few days before the season starts and slag the club off, so I wouldn't be surprised if he kicked up a stink about such a thing.

It could be about anything.
Poch: "Danny I have to tell you something come over here..."
DR: "Yeah gaff what's up?"
Poch: "Well, ummm, you peed yourself a little"
DR: "What!?"
Poch: "Yeah. Jesus noticed and we didn't want the cameras to see so just walk with me and act interested. We'll get you some new shorts in a bit when they leave."

Rose looks like he is still carrying extra timber, if he can't get that off in training, then why should he be afforded matches to do so?

Especially When Davies has done well in his absence.

He (Rose) has to take the minutes he gets and work his fucking arse off to prove he is worth more minutes. (rinse/repeat)

Exactly. Probably debating whether the passporting of Financial services should be a red line in any Brexit negotiation. In Spanish to boot. Davies deserves his place tho imo. Last season's Rose (before the injury) would get in ahead of him, but this isn't last season.

Anybody hear the Danny rose interview on the radio after last nights game. He was moaning about VAR which is fair enough but listening to him he sounds very down. The way he is playing at the moment the World Cup is a long way away.

It's in Russia. It's a similar distance for all the England players.

Rose to play right-back tomorrow (Aurier played left back against Liverpool at home to combat Salah)...probably not and just a wild guess, seems a risk to be caught in front of the media if it was Poch telling Rose he’s not playing tomorrow.....cue negative coverage in tomorrow’s daily’s...

It's very strange. He's definitely built up a gut on him this season but you'd think Pochettino would want him nowhere near the side if he had.

F365 Says: Rose drew the battle lines, but lost the war

Pochettino deserves great credit for the courage of his convictions. Sir Alex Ferguson’s old adage was that no player was bigger than Manchester United, even if it prompted the departure of superstar players such as David Beckham. That strength of personality helped create the aura that earned Ferguson so much respect amongst the club’s players, and thus their trust. It’s one thing preaching the ‘no player is bigger than the club’ mantra and making it work at Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, but another entirely at the fifth or sixth biggest club in the country.

Pochettino’s principles matter. Had Rose been brought straight back into the fold without punishment, it would have set a precedent that key Tottenham players, well aware that their club were not the biggest payers, could use the media to signal their discontent. Had Davies struggled in Rose’s absence, it would have reinforced the suspicion that Spurs needed Rose more than he needed them.

In fact, the opposite may now be true. Rose has been forced to sit and watch his former deputy take his gun and badge and step into the breach. That suggests two things: That the tactical systems and working environment Pochettino has created are more important than the quality of the individual, and that ill-discipline and mutiny will not be tolerated at Tottenham. Rose drew the battle lines; Pochettino has won the war.

Hard to argue with that.

I just hope we can get danny playing his best for us again.

He's always been a bit grumpy and speaks without thinking but he also has been very good for us. Hope he concentrates on getting back in the team.

I personally don't think we're ever going to see the Danny Rose of the past few seasons again - massive injury setback, ridiculous interview in the papers which would have caused all sorts of problems behind the scenes and has since been struggling to find fitness and form this season.

Danny Rose was probably my favourite player before that interview.

He'll be 28 in July, we won't get what we could have last summer, but I wouldn't mind if we sold him in the next window and brought in a long term successor to complete with Davies (who has been bloody brilliant, with both his attitude since he joined and playing ability this season)...

That may be an option. All i'm saying is that i would prefer if we could get him back to his best, cause at his best he is a fantastic player.

Oh for sure, if we're talking hypothetically - Danny Rose at his best, is the best left back in the league bar none. I just think the chances of us seeing that Danny Rose again are slim.

Davies comes across as a model professional, keeps his head down and works his ass off. Yes he’s slow but he’s generally a bloody good defender and has a better cross on him than Rose. Given that we now have pace up top in Moura and Son, we’re not reliant on the full backs pushing forward as we were a couple of years ago when we played 352 with Walker and Rose as wing backs. What I don’t like about Rose and you could see the same traits in Adebayor, Lennon, Kaboul and Assou-Ekotto is that they all have a Billy big bollocks mentality... look at me, yes me... I’m an overpaid arrogant prick and I don’t care. Whereas as mentioned Davies, Kane, Vertonghen, Lloris, Wanyama, Son etc are very professional, cool calm and collected, or at least in public they are.

Not caring is the last thing I'd level at Danny Rose. On the pitch at least he's always come across as fully committed & fiercely competitive.

Like in the cup game where he ambled about for 70 mins and looked completely disinterested?
