I used to think Rose was a bit of a grumpy, arrogant player, just jogging back and had an attitude. I am starting to think after listening him in interviews that he is actually quite a shy lad. Misunderstood probably, def by me.
He's a nice lad, think he is reluctant to get too excited which is fair enough, long way to go yet and I find what he says to be quite down to earth, much better than the shit we normally hear from footballers who just say what the fans want to hear. I think our current group is bringing him out of his shell as well and he seems very happy to be a part of this team.

Nah I think he just wanted first team football. He was prepared to join Sunderland after his loan spell because he was so desperate to play, not because he thought he was better than Spurs. At the time though, he probably didn't deserve an outright place in the first 11 but he's worked at his game and he has improved so much it's unreal. My favourite thing about him is that he never ever bottles a 50/50. If he could improve in the final 3rd, he'd be an almost perfect fullback/wingback.

Was there not somthing about him his attitute when City were rumoured to be intersted though?

I fully expect Martin Kelly to get in after scoring the other week or Jon Flanagan now he's back from injury and has the experience of being standby in 2014.

I can think of half a dozen right-backs I'd take ahead of Flanagan.

Not sure. I know there have been mumblings about his attitude on here before but how true that is I have no idea. Not since he's been good though. Nowadays he doesn't even play every game but he's happy and he knows that's how it has to be, especially if we play midweek too. His attitude, publicly at least, has been spot on. I've always thought the mumblings are more about how he seems on the pitch and the perceived grumpiness.

No I think you're mixing up 2 very different situations and making them into one, their was paper interest from City yes, but that was years after the supposed attitude issue rumours. Tbf I love Danny Rose the tenacious little b*****d!

The most upsetting thing about Danny Rose's season is that no matter how well he plays for Spurs, Roy probably won't even consider him for the Euros.

He should take every English first team Spurs player to the euros. If Liverpool or United were in this position and playing like this he certainly would

Meh really though, in my ideal world no Spurs player would go and play for that clown outfit

After seeing Danny Rose's interview on Sky after the game, its blatantly obvious that he suffers from a lack of self confidence. He's quietly spoke, fairly articulate, seems a nice guy. Ive slated him in the past for always taking the easy route, i.e. pass the ball backwards, sideways. He always looked hesitant to beat his man, even if he was in the final third of the pitch, which frustrated the hell out of me.

Clearly, theres a good player in there, he just needs to believe in his own ability. On Sunday against Swansea, he certainly had his tail up. Shooting from 35 yards, scoring a good goal. Running at players with purpose. I hope his transformation continues.

Yup fully deserved. Probably the best English left back at the moment.

Just hope he doesn't get injured during one of these pointless friendlies. And that goes for the other 4 of our boys in the squad.

The above is of Jordi Alba. Alba is a highly thought LB despite his penchant for diving.

That clip above shows an attacking LB that receives gifts all day from a very gifted Argentinian.

Rose for me has these same qualities and honestly would finish more chances than Alba if given the same service.

Can we get that same service from our Argentinian? Maybe...something to explore more as a team.

But I do think Rose is a dark horse for player of the year. Won't win but will receive plenty of praise.

I know, I know, but Lamela does have vision and cuts in so often from the same position. We just don't look for the run as much or at least it seems so.

I completely get your point and not arguing the comparison just the worthiness of mocking.

The difference is also how Barca's other attacking players play. Their movemebt is immense, dragging people all over the shop. It's easy in Spain because defending tends to be bollocks over there. What you'll find though is players like Messi and Neymar get marked the fuck out of, leaving loads of room for the likes of Alba. England's approach to defending and marking is much tighter on full backs.
