I think the bringing him on at the bernabeu was a signal from poch that he's over it, he didn't need to bring him on there and you can see it meant something to danny

I personally can't be fucked to hold a grudge. It's a best period in my clubs recent history, I just want to enjoy it and our players not worry about something someone said, whilst in a bad place mentally, that they now regret. I don't think anyone can claim to be saintly enough to have never done that

Plus he's a fucking good lb

It's blindingly obvious, as Poch said at the time, that the silly interview he gave came from his frustration at not being able to get fit. Sounds like he lost the plot a bit and fair enough. I've got absolutely no problem with him at all, and don't think anyone should.

It's pretty easy to underestimate the effect that an injury and layoff like that can have on one's mental health. It's something that really shouldn't be discounted when considering these things.

I will support the guy while in our shirt but seeing Ben Davies in top form gives me a great sense of joy knowing that we can live without Danny.

He’s like that friend that does the dirty on you, then you make up.But it’s never quite the same again.

Yeah I kind of feel the same way. I don't hold any anger or anything towards him but when I look at him now I just see a player who wants out when a good opportunity arises. He almost feels like a loan player in a sense to me now and that we're just using and getting the most out of a player who can really help us for the rest of the season.

He's also our longest serving player by far...a fact that many on here have quickly forgotten.

While I agree that we need to just support him, move on and will him to play his best for us, the line he crossed is going to be hard to ever fully step back over. If he can, fair play.

Danny played very well against Palace and demonstrated his value to the team. He is a very good player and one we do not want to lose. It all depends on his attitude. When fired up he can be a real fighter and leader. However, if his heart is not at the club it is probably better to move him on. We have proved we can cope without him and can use the money to reinforce the squad. The big problem of course is that this would involve strengthening one of our rivals.

To be honest as much as I didn't like what he said and the timing of it etc. That's not even the issue for me at this point, it's more so that if United came calling for instance, I think he'd want to be straight out of the door. If he stayed after next summer or suddenly declared that he wanted to stay with us and be part of our future I wouldn't even think back on what he said, personally.

There's little point having a problem with a player who might leave given the chance to go to a bigger club on 2 or 3 times as much money, because then you have a problem with almost every current professional footballer.

Only if idiotic fans get in his way.

Why didn’t you quote my whole post stating that he should be supported? Seems unnecessary extra effort on your part for such a short post.

Also, seems a bit confrontational to say fans are idiots if they bear a grudge on someone who acted poisonously towards the club just days before the season opener. Surely those who are ultimately responsible for his purportedly paltry pay packet (which is over 100 times the uk national average) are entitled to feel aggrieved.

Personally I’m ambivalent, I’ll be delighted if he reverses all ill feeling because that would mean he’s played very well for us, equally if we cash in and replace him with a talent who is ahead of Rose at that age I won’t shed any tears, especially given Davies’ form.

It was talked about in the aftermath of his interview in the summer that maybe he wasn't 100% mentally and that doing the interview was a sign of that.

Apologies if I'm not articulating it well by the way.
