All we can do is back Danny and support him as we should. I’m sure with the fams behind him he’ll feed off it in his road to recovery on and off the pitch.

Depression aside, he sounds pretty down on the club as a whole in his latest quotes. Such a shame from a player who appeared to love playing for Spurs more than anyone else before his injury and The Sun interview.

Probably best for all concerned if he moves on this summer.

Yeah agree, sounds like he needs a change of scenery.
He's been at the same club away from home for 11 years tbf to him

I know from experience it doesn't always work like that. I attempted suicide twice as a younger man before anyone else was aware I had some issues. Everyone is different of course but there was, and still is, a huge stigma attached to mental illness, especially in young men who should be man enough to "get over it". It's easy to bottle things up and not let on you have problems.
I'm very sorry to hear that you struggled with those issues. I've also dealt with depression and anxiety for most of my life. It's not fun in the slightest and can be crippling. Seeing my teenage son exhibit some of the same issues is hugely worrying, as it would be for any parent. So, we talk about these things a lot in my home and with counselors too. I hope that Danny is surrounded by those that give him confidence and fill his heart with love and hope.

I can’t go into details, but suffice to say Poch was aware of more than I can even disclose. Don’t fancy a certain person from the club giving the bosses legal grief.

Now Danny Rose has gone public on his depression, and family issues, which some of us knew. Let it be a LESSON when you are getting hints to ‘lay off’ to understand!...

This again ffs

No one was even being that harsh, there was literally just a few jokes/I’m not ready to 100% forgive which I don’t even think you can blame. It’s easy to look back now and think what ****s but no one knew about any of this and you weren’t exactly telling us why we should “lay off” just saying we should, which I understand as you can’t tell us everything but I’m also not gonna change what I post because some random person on the internet tells me to and I don’t think you should expect people to unless you’re going to be specific.

If people were being rude I could understand but it wasn’t literally people just having different opinions

Anyway I’m 100% behind him now and hope he comes back strong for us, sounds like he’s had a shit few years, but I’ll still make jokes about things if I find them funny because I can.

Regardless of the media BS, he was not fined.
Danny rose says in the interview he was fined though.

Last summer he was disciplined by Spurs after saying the players were underpaid and the club needed to bring in big-name signings and “not ones you have to Google”. There have been strains since then. “Things were said and things happened behind the scenes at my club, and I don’t want to go into any detail because I’ll end up being fined again,” he said.

I wonder if now that we are aware he had mental health issues it would look bad on the club to have issued a fine to him

Because of Poch, who offered a lot of support, and was aware of the interview.

Nice to hear :). Shows how easily things can be taken out of context in the press.

I hope the WC helps revitalise him and he regains his focus. He’ll need to be closely monitored for the foreseeable future as serious depression can only be managed as opposed to cured... very easy to fall back into it.

"Things were said and things happened behind the scenes at my club, and I don't want to go into any detail because I'll end up being fined again.”

Rose might still love ‘the club’ in an abstract sense, but he doesn’t sound too pleased with the way he’s been treated by the people who run it.

When something happens to ruin the moment or turn your life upside the natural reaction is to look for someone to blame.

In Danny’s case and as we’ve seen with others (Wanyama and Lamela) it isn’t obvious whether an injury can be treated with rest, pain relief or requires surgery. He was flying and ‘potentially’ had aspirations of a big money move to City for example and then bang, everything went tits up. Reaction - play the blame game.

You were calling him a fat selfish prick, saying he should fuck off etc. How is that not being rude?

That was months ago and I probably regret saying those things, especially after what has come out, but at that point Danny had just come out days before our season started and said some very disrespectful things/potentially jeopardised the start to our season for no apparent reason except pushing a move. Yes maybe hercs knew something but what do people expect us to do? Never criticise anyone on the off chance their depressed?

This is about the other day when I made a really tame joke about Danny saying he wanted to go up north but not to everton and hercs started telling people to just “lay off” without really saying why.

Fair enough. Didn't mean to offend. We all just move on I guess.

One of the most important things that any human being should learn is never be too quick to judge; especially when the only information you have about someone is several degrees of separation away.

I know your pain from your past, depression is an evil illness that is hard to shift, I've suffered it most of my 54years. glad to hear your on the right path now, the only thing that keeps me going is my beautiful families, the 1 I live with, and the spurscommunity.
