Danny Rose has a fair bit to say just recently.

After the season he’s just had, I could be guilty of thinking he may just concentrate on his football. Especially seeing as he’s robbed a place on the plane.

Sort of begs the question wether he’d be this outspoken if Utd or City were interested?!

Explains his "self destructive " chat, (out of the blue) with the journo. Explains hercs anger at our aggressive reaction. Now we understand he'll find us different.
Yeah right, until he has a bad game or two, then it'll be, "Danny Rose is depressing me!!!" or "oh FFS, go and be depressed somewhere else!"

Football fans are very understanding until it gets in the way of the actual football.

Reading between the lines I don’t see much love for his club there and it sounds like he’s desperate to get out. Having said that I hope he gets his mind well again.

Fair play to Danny for coming out and talking about the problems he has faced, hopefully it encourages more people to do the same. Having lived with close family members who have suffered from the same, it's a horrible horrible thing.

As i have said before in this thread, a fully fit Danny Rose is still an asset to the club but whether its with THFC or another club i sincerely hope he gets back to enjoying football, and more importantly life.

For a long time, I’ve thought that we’ve been sleepwalking into a mental health epidemic in this country across all sections of society. I think Danny Rose is very brave to speak out and my estimation of the man has grown even higher. I hope he stays with the club. I hope he gets better and I will be giving him my full support next season.

He is brave. There's been a few footballers both current and ex speaking out about mental health recently. Also let's not forget Aaron Lennon who was detained a year ago who has his own battle:

Sorry mate, I can't agree to that. At least, I don't know anyone who'd say that. Even on here, whilst faceless!

i thought that at first read, but wonder whether it was more that he needed a break from going into the same training ground, seeing the same doctors etc, being reminded of his issues. Dont know.

It's so easy for us "normal" people to assume that the life of a footballer is (pardon the pun) Rosey...
Just because they get to do a job that everyone else would love to have, with a shit load of money, doesn't mean it's simple living.
Even Toby has mentioned in an interview in the last week that there are times when he wishes he had a normal job.

Fair play to Danny for speaking up and being open about what has been happening.
I think most on here just assumed he had a falling out with Poch etc. but it appears to be far deeper and the club were taking what they believed to be the best approach with him.

However, his wording of the England squad being the cathartic release for him suggests he's still not happy at the club.

I don’t like or agree with what Rose did last summer but for me it is not an unforgivable act.

If he has refocused himself then I hope we keep him.

We are in the position of trying to improve our team. At the moment it is without losing anyone, TA aside but we already have his replacement in Sanchez.

I don’t want us to sell first team players unless absolutely necessary.

He'll always be one of my favourite Spurs players of all time really.

The site of him bombing down the left flank in the in the 2016/17 season was phenomenal - I really hope we see that again.

There is only one Danny Rose. For me he the best left back in the Premier League and should be supported even more after this interview.

Fair play to Danny Rose, really sad to read about his phone call with his father though. I'd be devastated having to make that phonecall. Also excellent work from the england camp too. It seems that Southgate as created an environment where players can come forward.

Which ask's the question, and it is difficult to read between the lines reading the interview, whether our own procedures in dealing with mental health are sufficient?. I can't make out whether he is criticising us in regard to a difference of opinion over his injury, Or i don't know whether he felt like he wasn't getting the support for his depression and felt he couldn't talk with anyone at the club? Yet our staff referred him to a Doctor to get help? I do hope that own procedures are there, and any players feel they can approach our staff and not feel stigmatised and get the help they need.

Be great to see him back and happy, and at his best for us next season.

Think everyone at the first game of next season, even if he isn't playing needs to chant his name, I'm sure he'll appreciate that.

Best left back I've seen in my life time at spurs. I wish he'd had a better relationship with the fan base over the years, "that interview" aside(where he didn't actually say anything which wasn't true) I think he does deserve more respect than he gets. Not to mention the fact we, as a collective, treated him like utter shit when he signed that new contract. Pot. Kettle. Black.

When he's firing he scraps for spurs more than anyone on the pitch. And that matters. A real nasty piece of work player who happens to be quite brilliant at football. Hope he stays and wins everyone around again. And he deserves a huge amount of respect for being so open about his mental health problems.

He's been my adopted player before. He's defo going to be my adopted player for 2018/19 if he stays. You fuckers leave our Danny alone!

I went through depression when i was 21 and i lost everything. My house, my job, some friends. I just shut myself away. Didnt tell anyone. on the face of it i was fine. But inside i was so lonely and just let everything get on top of me. My parents are still annoyed with me that i never told them of my issues but i genuinley didnt know i was depressed until i came out the other side. I spent 6 years paying for the fact i lost my house but went travelling and found myself again. Managed to get a good job and put my life back together. I think it actually forced me to grow up a bit and also realise you cant do everything on your own. sometimes you need help. I hope by talking about it he now can get help and not feel like he is on his own. Good luck Danny. hope it works out for you. Give it your all at the WC and come back to spurs next season and rip it up.

I think in a world of heavily sanitised sports stars its refreshing that he says what he thinks even if we don't like it i.e. the interview. He is a brave lad coming out and saying this and I wish him all the best and hope he is still our player next season.
